Is it not weird that West Ham have been live and the early saturday game each weekend so far?

QPR I don't really expect either to perform well early season as a new team gels, nor take it to the big teams and they aren't going for more than survival this season so it doesn't much matter. Liverpool however are doing crap and if they hope for a Euro finish need to start picking up points sooner rather than later. To a non Liverpool fan it looks to me like there is a heck of a lot more patience for Rodgers than Hodgson, because Hodgson took over when King Kenny was available and was prefered, Rodgers is taking over after KK has failed and the fans wanted rid of him also... IE there isn't a legend standing in the wings to take over that the fans want.

However, its hilarious the double standards, Hodgon long ball rubbish, can't stand them, ra ra ra.... yet its Rodgers who has the team that has played the second highest number of long balls in the league so far and has started significantly worse than Hodgson's "long ball" football. At what point will the fans start treating Rodgers like Hodgson, and when he loses the fans he'll be screwed.

With Real on Tuesday but still a tough match at Stoke beforehand some players will be rested and the new ones tried I think.

-------Dzeko----
Sinclair-Nasri--Milner
---Rodwell--Garcia--
Kol--Komp--Kolo--Maicon
---------Hart-----------

Bench; Pantilimon, Clichy, Razak, Tevez, Balotelli, Silva and Yaya.

First ever trip to the Emerates on saturday! Little bit excited even if we are probably going to loose...

On the plus side we have Cork coming back from that ankle injury so hopefully we have some sensible midfield subs. Plus Gaston will be about which is also very exciting!

First game of this set of fixtures is on Sky Sports tonight: Leyton Orient v Brentford - London derby, away at my local ground and we have consistently put in the most god-awful performances at Brisbane Road for as long as I can remember... Can't wait for tonight :D

Quality! Didn't get to go to Orient in L1 (mate took a woman both times!) it'll be fun to have on in the background to see how it's all going.

Can't wait for QPR v Chelsea. Last seasons was quite memorable, for all the wrong reasons :p

So what will it be this time, a punch up or love in at half-time? I guess you want some action. :p

Nothing will happen it will be just as boring as the repeat match last January. The only exciting thing was the number of police waiting outside the ground after the game. You would have thought they were expecting us to riot. :D

I imagine it'll be going pretty badly. In realistic terms, Leyton Orient are our most relevant rivals (all other teams locally are in different divisions, and I'm sure the likes of QPR and Fulham couldn't give a **** about us :D) but there's not much tension between the two.

Back in the 90's Orient had a player called Kenny Achompong. Whilst playing us at Griffin Park, a few fans started giving him the standard abuse any away player receives, but this quickly turned in to our fans demanding (Cadbury's) Chomp Bars off him... much to his confusion.

This escalated over the next few weeks, and at any future matches during that season (think it was around 1990) literally hundreds, probably thousands, of Chomp Bars were gently lofted onto the touchline by Brentford fans whenever the Ref got a decision wrong. Huge Chomp Bars were made out of advertising boards by fans, and on match days all local newsagents had their Chomp stock depleted by Brentford fans. To the point where the police had to get involved and spent most match days confiscating chocolate bars off all the youngsters...

I seem to remember reading that Cadbury's got wind of the whole thing and start supplying the fans with extra chomp bars!

"Less widely broadcast was the banning of confectionery at a number of lower-league grounds in the 1990s when Brentford were the visiting team," adds Mike Deller. "Indeed, at one match (a promotion deciding end-of season thriller at Southend) I was personally stopped outside the turnstiles by a member of Southend's finest and asked: 'Excuse me sir, but do you have any ... confectionery about your person?' (This was delivered with all the gravitas of an undercover narc asking if he might 'score some weed, maaaan' at the Loonpants-a-Go-Go Discotheque some time in the late Sixties). Fortunately for me, all I had was a packet of wine gums and a king-sized tube of Refreshers; the constabulary were set on locating people attempting to smuggle handfuls of Chomp bars into the ground.

"At the time, an enthusiastic set of Bees supporters had managed to obtain an advertising hoarding depicting an oversized Chomp bar, at the time just about the cheapest bar in existence, and would, at any contentious refereeing decision, brandish said board, chant "Chomp, chomp, chomp" and lob handfuls of bars on to the pitch. Chomp bars were therefore banned."

I'm not sure whether this means we have a sense of humour, or that we're the most bored football fans in the country. Apparently Achompong was chanted throughout our away game at Orient that season by the Brentford away fans!

Tonight should be interesting based on the fact that Martin Rowlands is playing. He stated his love for the club shortly before turn-coating and joining QPR and stoking the Brentford fans whenver we played against him (mouthing off in the press beforehand, kissing his badge, all that kind of stuff that doesn't really matter...). Think Sky may need to turn off the mics near the Bees fans tonight!

Hahaha! :D That goes down as one of the funnest things I have read about a football!

There's a fine line between being very funny and being the most bored football fans in the country, but on this occasion I am sticking with very funny.

So glad you mentioned it, I so rarely watch tv outside of the actual game, no ad's, I tend to miss out when Brentford do eventually end up on TV, though managed to see the last few games of which some were really good.

OK AVB, Ade should eb fit and Dempsey and Dembele have had some time at Spurs now....make it work please. Also act swiftly with the Lloris and Friedel thing.

Really ? No most of us wanted Hodgeson out before he got there he did well at Fullham big deal, His ideas of how to play football are ancient he is NOT imo a great manager heck his away record at most clubs sucks, He over all is just barely average. Then there was his poor buys i.e Konchesky, Poulson.

Anyway we do need to pick up points but its same problem we wont finish any chance we make hell i would give another youngster a chance like Morgon since Suarez/Borini arent putting any shots away have him on bench maybe.

I really don't see why Lloris has been bought... can't see him or Friedel being happy as a second keeper. Friedel is still quality, so it just sounds to me like it will disturb the team more than anything.

Friedel is good dont get me wrong, steady as anything, but lets be honest, he IS getting on, he has 9 months left on his contract, it is time to bring in a younger keeper who can be there for years and years, also it makes our back line almost entirely french speaking.

Lloris

Kaboul
BAE
Gallas
Vertonghan

Hopefully that wont hamper Walker/Dawson/Caulker too much :P

Because Friedel is OLD, like ANCIENT, you wanted a world class keeper bringing in now to get to know the club and be number 1 next season.

Do people think Brad Friendel is going to go on forever? i'd rather have 5 rocky games with Lloris and then 10 years worth of service than rocking the boat with average keeper after average keeper.

lloris was wrong to say what he did, but there's no doubting the fact, he knows it, the club knows it, the fans know it. They need a new number 1.

Now how you go about getting the best from both and transitioning will be difficult, as brad has been great and offers you certain stability, but Lloris won't sit there all season.

You are right, it will be interesting to see how things pan out in the interim though.

Hm, home to Leicester. This time last year, I'd have been confident of a win. Now, with our current form, probably not :( We've been defensively shocking, with only one signing in that area too.

Hopefully we'll get some loans in to sort it out! Not going to help on Sunday though
