Fair enough. I don't think he's been that bad though, he made more runs in behind than our entire squad last season. :p

I would also, largely to see if Depay can play there and would have in the last game also... but then you have a unfit striker on a huge wage. If you don't give Rooney 90 mins frankly he isn't going to improve his match fitness any time soon. Catch 22, pull Rooney off, but then it will take him longer to stop playing as god damned badly as he has been, or leave him on but be stuck with a dead weight up front and risk the result.

EDIT:- I would happily take Rooney off and bench him and try to shift him out of the team if I was the manager. But ultimately LVG is likely stuck with him without the option to sell him and with the Utd board intent on Rooney playing as a starting striker, in that situation you probably have to focus on getting the best out of Rooney at the expense of alternative options.
 
You're damn right if Schweinsteiger is asking for a throw in it's going to be our throw in.

Rooney has been dire. Blind has been ok for most of the match but poor when he was actually asked to do something in the first half. For a guy that isn't particularly slight he is insanely weak and easy to barge off the ball.

I don't know, they have some positives. Amavi (other than the dive) has played really well and Sinclair looked good. Their fitness also has been impressive, kept up a very high rate of pressing.

Pointing out to LVG who he thinks should be subbed to make the team play better.... me thinks that finger will be pointed squarely at Rooney.

well, three points is three points. Good start so far. Just got to hope this is a tentaive start and we will have some more exciting game soon.

It is heartening we have kept two clean sheets as our defence has been woeful for the last few seasons.
