Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 19th October 2016]

I don't agree :p Once you're beyond the front or far posts headers rarely go in, particularly when you're stetching and having to add pace to the ball.

The only clear chance in the game was Can's imo. If the ref wasn't a Manc we'd have had a pen for that too ;)

Maybe. When the chance happened I wasn't expecting him to score though. At that sort of angle you need a bit of luck for it to go through the keeper.

Yeah pogba as always seems to have moments of good play. But ultimately isn't someone who can control the game. He needs a pair of central mids to do that for him so he can keep up his luxury player moniker. Not the player we needed.

As for Jesse lindgard. He's awful.

Quite happy with the result, we played quite well in parts.

I had feared a drumming but taking a draw from Anfield is something a lot of teams wont do this season so I'm happy.

Classic boring Mourinho really.

One shot on target; 20 fouls; 35% possession; taking five minutes at every goal kick, free-kick and throw-in; casually strolling off the pitch at every substitution.

Man Utd recorded just 35% possession against Liverpool; their lowest figure in a PL game in Opta's records (2003-present).

People forget SAF was reserved in difficult games (not particularly vs Liverpool though :p) - Ji Sung Park anyone.

I don't think it was anywhere near the extreme that we saw last night, it was embarrassing team way we played with a team that cost what, over 300m to assemble?

Liverpool were not exactly great themselves, so you cant exactly blame JM

I was all for more positive subs in the 2nd half when there was a bit more space, but a point from that cauldron really isnt that bad (even if we have won the previous two there)

I wish people would get off Pogba's back, its going to take time for him to acclimbatise to the EPL again (not that he had that much experience of it before he left) and his new team mates. The cost of his transfer doesnt have any baring on how long this takes.

KDB was what £55m? 15 months ago with a lot more EPL experience with Chelsea before he left (and more recent) than Pogba had at Utd and yet last season he was constantly in and out of games just like Pogba - and may well be this season too

De Bruyne made 3 PL appearances for Chelsea Frank, the same as Pogba for Utd first time around.

Again, it was no surprise to me how Utd played last night. Mourinho's done it every where he's been - unless he feels his team is far superior to the opposition then he simply won't go toe to toe and look to take the game to them.

The Chelsea game will tell you more about Mourinho than last night. Chelsea aren't in the form we've been in, aren't as offensive and crucially, struggled massively in the 2 games where the opposition played on the front foot and took the game to them. Given that Chelsea's full backs don't get forward as much as ours I don't think you'll see Utd playing with a back 6 again but I can't see Utd going there and taking the game to Chelsea either.

Actually thought fellaini had one of his better games.

Pretty dull game, neither side deserved to win.

I know we all give him stick but he's actually better than Rooney in that role, more physical, made some decent tackles, isn't afraid to head the ball. I'm not saying he's good enough for United but I'd play him over Rooney.

Nothing like a bit of hysteria. Come on Shami! It's a fair point - you pay that money in the expectation that he'll do more than ok. No, that doesn't mean you should sell him but he's not beyond a bit of criticism.

Pogba wasn't great, wasn't terrible, but he didn't shine. Couldn't seem to move past people, even though he tried a fair bit. Bit of a shame but he certainly looked hindered by the tactics. Henderson was far better in there. However Henderson is older and been with his team for 5 years and played 164 games with them...

Genuinely think Maureen could ruin one of the world's best talents if he shackles Pogba as Deschamps did in the Euros.

laughs - just shows how bad Rooney's performances have fallen off the cliff if Fellaini is a better option - and I dont disagree

Although I would prefer someone who could actually play football rather than a battering ram . If he could actually head the ball (on target) from a corner then fair enough, but he couldnt even do that. Coutinho is a great player, but not particularly tall, if even he can beat fellaini to a header there is something wrong somewhere!

.

Not to mention his Sunderland EPL experiiences before joining Liverpool (and Henderson was practically invisible last night for the 1st half, listening to the sky commentary was he even mentioned at all?).
