Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 21st April 2016]

Haha that's rich coming from you DM jr :p.

Not a glory hunting fan one single bit, I've supported and will always support Arsenal. Just fed up with our constant failures in winning the title. But of course you aren't, even when Utd were winning titles left right and centre, you couldn't stop moaning like a little girl.

Hell Utd could win another 10 titles and you like DM will always find some sort of reason to moan.

tbf i dont think like that, you basically have the same attitude my best mate (life long arsenal fan) [his mum got him an arsenal shirt instead of a leicester one whilst shoppin one day when we were kids so he grew up supporting them since he was at primary school]... (bet hes wishin she got a leicester shirt now :D) i honestly give up tryin to work out what his views are on wenger now - one minute he's sayin the mans a genius for what hes done for the club on a shoestring budget, but then moanin wenger out when results arent goin right, winning arsenal streak and the mans a genius again... far too many mood swings for a bloke who cuts down trees for a living ! :D

I assume most arsenal fans think the same way, love wenger for what hes done for the club, but i think they're living on past glory etc. probably a big bond and emotional attachment to the man as well - but i reckon its time for a new man at the helm.

It's just another sad end. We had so many chances of closing the gap but we just end up messing it up. Thought we were fighting for second but I guess it's the usual forth place battle again.

The squad is good but I think we need to either invest heavy in some world class players or change it all with a new manager. Three or four top players and wouldn't care who the manager is.

Pretty much agree with what you say, I appreciate what Wenger has done for us especially when in the middle of building a new stadium, selling off our best players but still qualifying for CL every season.

But the stadium is built, our shoe string budget is really no more as we have bought Özil and Sanchez in the past few seasons but we still can't get it together to win a title.

Personally I think Wenger should have called it a day last season after winning back to back FA cups. I don't think he has the tactical nous to win another title for us sadly, which for the past couple seasons have been glaringly obvious with us being top for the first half of the season then it all falls apart around xmas time.

As for a new manager? Geezus I don't know who could take over and take us to the next level. I had my hopes set on Pep taking over but that's not happening, not only do we need a few world class players, we also need a world class manager to lead us to a few titles, trophies etc.

Personally we should be getting shot of Walcott, Ox, Giroud and Ramsey at the very least. 4 absolutely useless players that somehow get game time when they are fit but aren't good enough. Ramsey and Walcott are the worst out of that bunch imho. Had high hopes on Ramsey but other than a few seasons ago when he was immense, he's gone back to being absolute ****.

Vardy could get an extra game added to his ban for his conduct after the red. It would be quite funny and fitting if Leicester lost the title as a result of Vardy diving and then acting like a ****.

I don't think they'll win it now, without Vardy. They'll lose to Utd, they'll lose to Chelsea, and neither Everton nor Swansea will be easy.

It's Tottenham's trophy now. They'll beat Stoke, Brom and Southampton easily.

Vardy only misses one game. It was 2 yellows not a straight red.

You've fallen in to the media trap, he's good but not that good.
He mishandles a lot of crosses and is frequently glued to his line when corners come in, he should be dominating the 6 yard box at his size but he doesn't, his distribution is questionable too.
He's also beaten at the near post more than he should be and lets in more long range efforts than he should.
A 'keeper as good as the media claim he is should be winning/saving points for his team (even one as rubbish as Chelsea) but I can't think of anything positive he's contributed this season.

Agree with this so much - he's hugely overrated.

Made wonder saves against United home and away though but then again, in a whole season, you would expect him to.

De Gea and Lloris are leagues ahead.

let's hope he does, the spikey haired oik

Especially after his simulated dive in the last game where he ironically dove on the floor mimicking another player diving.

It's not the first time he has intentionally ran into a player's legs to trip himself up. He doesn't need to do it but it has helped them get a lot of penalties.

Vardy is hardly in hot goal-scoring form at the moment. He's the difference between Leicester winning and losing at the moment.

Hopefully referees will pay more attention to Leicester's shenanigans at set pieces now though.

Don't even know why he dived, they were 1 up, and have shown plenty of times the ability to nurse home a 1-0 victory. Just seemed really pointless.

Chance of league winner medal going to his head a bit perhaps?

Yeah i might moan and ask for improvements if i see glaring weaknesses in our team or style of play that impedes us.

at least i dont skip the matches or worse still forget them...

Not quite, if Spurs lose to Stoke, they could be down to forth by the time they play again. Which would really put the cat amongst the pigeons :D

I don't think I've ever wanted Stoke to win more than tonight. Stoke's form has been a bit up and down recently too. I would be physically sick if spurs won the league:(
