Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 21st April 2016]

Common sense would say that the board are waiting to see if we fail to get a top four, in which case I think it would activate a clause similar to Moyes that allows us to push him out the door for less money.

I don't have any problem with that, as long as they know exactly what they are doing and have the plan for next season set in concrete.

Also, about the season tickets, it doesn't make someone less of a supporter if they don't attend every single game. I mean I don't have a grand to chuck around annually plus transport fares (which would be astronomical). As it stands I can't even watch them on TV as I bite my nails so bad it makes them bleed.

What a let off if true, can't find anything on it though. In fact vardy cannot have been let off the hearing isn't until the 21st?

Vardy gets sent off (no issue with that). But then points his finger at the ref and possibly says something that the ref hears all the time in games, but doesn't report it.

Now with Social Media at the forefront, Vardy is going to receive a further ban.

Maybe Vardy should have done something like this below, seeing as Joe Hart received no punishment for it.

I've seen it suggested that Vardy called the ref a **** (the worst word of them all). If true then any player that does that is going to get a suspension. Arguing with the ref is 1 thing, insulting them is another and when you do that you're going to get a yellow or red.

That said there certainly are inconsistencies regarding discent as a whole however 1 area the FA are consistent with is discent following red cards. It's not uncommon when a player reacts like Vardy did for them to receive a further charge.

This is because refs are horrendously inconsistent. AdM got sent off for grabbing olivers shirt yet Hart puts his head to the same ref and nothing happens and Kompany grabs the same ref and nothing happens.

I get why he'll get punished, but it seems ridiculous that it's basically accepted that players shout '**** off' at refs etc and nothing ever happens. It feels inconsistent like you say.

I agree. You regularly see players telling the ref to **** off and nothing is done. Like I said though, when it comes to players reacting after red cards the FA do seem to consistently punish this. And as above, it's suggested that Vardy didn't just swear but directly called the ref a **** which I think I suspect would have resulted in a straight red for any player.

to be honest tonight is only relevant (from City's point of view) if Arsenal get a point off them or more in a couple of matches time.

Its pretty irrelevant if Utd cant win all 5 of their remaining fixtures anyway given how moderately easy most of Arsenal's and City's fixtures are - and given that Utd have to face Leicester at home and WHU away along with two potentially in the relegation battle (Norwich and CP) , with Utd's current form I cant see it happening myself

I wouldn't put any money on Arsenal winning their remaining games. WBA are exactly the sort of team we will struggle against and getting 2 points or less at home to 2 awful teams will only dent our confidence even further. Only chance vs City is if it coincides with a Champs League game and they rest their first team.

Arsenal play twice before Spurs play again and if Arsenal do win their next two games, they'll only be 2 points behind 2nd, which will put some nice added pressure on Spurs. :)

Not sure what the hell is going on in midfield with tonight's lineup unless Rooney is playing alongside Schneiderlin.
