I agree with DM in regards to Real's defence being poor.

Barcelona do wind up teams by not letting them have the ball :p

I didn't see any diving I can remember, I saw a bit of over exaggerating when fouled, but nothing you don't see day in day out in most leagues.

Barcelona play the way they do, it must be frustrating. They do simulate but it's certain players that tend to be the main culprits and have improved on it, it's not something you see too often now with them compared to a few patches last season, remember Sky like to see one game where they dive a bit and brand them like that all the time. It's stupid and lazy journalism.

Real had awful tactics tonight, trying to physically intimidate them and "The Special One's" mind games failed again, must really annoy him that he's second best to Barcelona.
 
Mourinho is such a horrible ****. Not surprised by Marcelo's tackle or the tackles in the past few matches - Mourinho's built a team very much in his image.
 
I hope Marcelo gets a long ban for that too. It's totally 100% needless. In a perfect world he'd be charged with assault, because that's what it is.

To be fair I think you're mixing the actual games football tactics, with some players who are just generally thuggish or, stupid.

Mourinho's football tactics were spot on, take it too them with all out attack and pressure high up the pitch. In the first 30 minutes they won it a LOT of times deep in Barca's half completely cleanly. I don't think Mourinho's tactics are to be physical, its just that happens to be who Pepe, Marcelo, Ramos, Alonso are, they were like that before Mourinho joined. Those same guys got into trouble against Barca last year when playing "don't you dare leave our half, we'll park the bus" tactics.

THe football tactics were spot on, its simply the nature of certain players that they'll be physical, no matter the team or way the rest of the team is playing. It wasn't frustration at Barca, Barca weren't great. Their front men have fantastic movement but 99% of Barca's successful football was one guy in midfield, passing it through a horrifically organised defence to a guy who ran in without anyone even noticing, just about any team could have walked through that defence.


Pepe is just, mental, or bonkers as the commentator described him, he'll do all kinds of insane tackles, though I like the guy and a huge amount of his worst tackles are over enthusiasm as opposed to trying to kill the guy, though that stamp, kick and red card the other year was truly terrible of him.

Marcelo, just dives in on everyone, he loves diving in and doing everything at full pace, as he has a lot of pace those two don't combine very nicely most of the time.

Alonso, just kicks everyone these days, passing was poor again, horrible defensively.
 
Love all these Fabregas comments. Bet it's a lot of effort to copy/paste them off Facebook! Player goes to play for best attacking team in the world and wins his first match, which just happens to be a pre-season cup. Shock! Horror!

As said. Madrid, if their final ball had been better would have won that game. They dominated for large periods of both halves without resorting to rugby tactics, and over two legs what will annoy Jose more than losing was his team's inability to take their own chances. It was only towards the end of the game when they were tiring and Cesc came on and started pulling the strings that they lost their rag and started chopping people down, although Barca were guilty of it too at points in the game (Xavi did a proper late Paul Scholes tackle on someone in the first half to earn himself a booking).
 
Regarding Marcelo, aren't there always rumours of racism flying around regarding him in the clasicos? Was it Busquets last year who got caught on camera staying stuff?

There's no excuse for racist chants/comments to any player, but it was mentioned more then once on Ravista last year that he's not a very nice person and difficult to get along with, which never helps.
 
Marcelo's tackle was terrible, it was pure malice and frustration and could have seriously injured Fabregas. The punch-up afterwards was completely unneccesary though, I don't know why Pinto always feels the need to get involved in a scrap, he seems to love it lol.

What a game last night...very very happy that Barca won even tho Real seemed to be the better team all round but luck was definitely on Barca's side last night and a certain Messi who scored 2 and made the first goal happen....simply sublime he is..

Lol at the brawl...Marcelo is a little ****, good player but an arse really...Mourinho??? as much as i like him, find him hilarious...is a nasty piece of work for twisting the barca asst coachs ear...what a pathetic little man he is and i hope they punish him fully.

Was nice seeing Fab play altho Marcelos tackle could have seriously injured him :/ not good at all that
 
It's been like that for ages I remember watching the Clasico few years back and Pepe/Ramos and someone else literally kicked the **** out of Messi. I think 3 players were yellow carded for fouls on him within like 20 minutes.

It must be amazingly frustrating to see all that money spent and all that effort and Barca finish their chances so much easier real sucker punch.
 
Just heard that Mourinho wont face any action for his eye poke or ear pulling, whatever it was as the match referee didnt include it in his report.

Do they not have a retrospective punishment system in Spain like we have here??....would be shocking if he got away with what is essentially assault.

Its up to barca now to put a complaint to la liga.

Hopefully they will do and the la liga take strong action...throw him out of the la liga or ban him from all future games this season, well thats if they get their season started lol.

Yes harsh but fair i think as he assaulted someone basically.
