Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 22nd August 2011]

Jesus, people really do like to argue stupid points, I noticed both of you didn't actually disagree with the premise, that Rafael has a tendancy to get into trouble defensively and lunge in and get bookings, you just decided to argue that it didn't happen twice before.

Actually the point you're failing to see is that because Rafael has played Bale so well in the past he hasn't needed to lunge in so why would it be any different now? Not that Rafael is even playing as he's out for 10 weeks due to injury.

Rafael will always dive in, he just can't grow out of it. it really cost us against bayern and he's continued to do it since...

Yep he's 20 years old no hope for him now is there. Behave. Gilly.

rafael had bale in his back pocket? i must've been watching a different game. the game i watched, rafael had a look of fear on his face and had to keep being assisted by someone else until he headed for the tunnel

CCCCCCOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSS

Yes you must have been watching different games. Bale has never done anything of note against us. Que him to score tonight now :(

Lol tom have you tourettes? Even when he hasn't been sent off i always hold my breath when he lounges in for a tackle. considering he was sent off in a cl game of such importance you'd think he would have learnt to avoid going in like that. fabio isn't as fearless and this helps his game .

Personally thought it was stupid of Nani to bring up THAT goal from last season - just seems to be asking for trouble

.

Lets also not forget that they don't play as much as people think, not anywhere near, so their experience is little. (Smalling played nearly more in his 1 year than Fabio has in his four for example, and has only played 1 less league game than Fabio overall in 1 year)

So really you are comparing Rio's fitness levels to Evra's :) - will only ever be one winner on that one (Rio is a fabulous player.....but can he be really be relied upon to be available for 30+ games a season?)

edit - just out of interest when was the first time Fabio played on the right - was it last season as I remember, or a lot earlier? Dont recall him ever playing there until relatively recently (I know he had bad injury problems for 2 + years, but even so that would have doubled his opportunities at getting a game even being behind his brother as it were)
