Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17 - 19th November 2012]

Agreed we looked shaky at the start.

Adebayor ruined it for spurs. Gave me an enormous sense of well being :D

3 points, 5 goals for, I don't really care if the red card ruined the competitiveness. :p

Could have had 6 or 7 if it wasnt for some sloppy finishing but same score as last yr when we played them. Happy that both Germans scored along with a frenchman, a spanish and an englishman all scored:p

lol, Spurs were absolute cack, sure Ade helped the crapness, though Arsenal actually started to look significantly improved in the couple minutes before the sending off. Wilshire was excellent, just before the sending off it was a masterful turn on the ball and breaking beyond the midfield that led to our first dangerous play of the game, and throughout Wilshires passing was quick and incisive.

Spurs looked the better side till the sending off no doubt, but the sending off, and Ade had no bearing on the fact that the defence played a ridiculous high line, looked abysmal under any pressure(with simply the absense of pressure till the sending off). Sandro, I still don't get what people see in him, lucky to be on the pitch, foul, foul, foul, foul, foul, foul, and offered nothing else in the game. The reason people rate Parker is because he can close people down, and not foul them, he can tackle, and not give away a foul, he can pass... .and not make it a foul, his positioning is also much better and reading of the game and his passing may be often simple, but often accurate and often the right choice.

Bale, was shamefully poor, sure he got a goal, and but for his selfishness should have made it 4-3. But defensively, he was lazy as hell, his his arsed closing down which was walking towards someone then giving up, it was actually what I'd call the quintessential Walcott game, popped up with a goal, lazy as crap, did little defensively and wasn't working hard for the team. His interplay was terrible, simple passes, positioning, he was the same against City, and a lot recently.

Spurs lost not because of Ade being sent off, but because AVB's defensive choices and tactics are failing them badly. Spurs look a lot worse defensively this year than last, the high line was daft.

For me AVB seems to be making all the exact same mistakes he made with Chelsea, trying to mould all players to the ONLY system he knew, one he inhereted that the players were good at. At Chelsea he tried to force one of the best defense in the league into an alien system for no reason and failed miserably, he's doing the same with Spurs.

Completely disgree. We looked awesome at the outset and to suggest that it was going **** up after arsenal's first attack is daft.

You crticize Avb yet he doesnt have so many vital first team players; dembele, ekotto, parker and kaboul! We lost our two flair players and the replacments are abyssmal. Put kaboul in that team instead of gallas and a&e instead of naughton, then have parker and dembele as options and things look very different. AVB lost modrice and vdv and dembele and has livermore, huddlestone, dempsey, siggurdssen as replacement options! Despite that we have not dropped out of contention of 4th and have an easier run of games to come.

Spurs lost not because of Ade being sent off,

we had the ball in the net twice and lloris hadn't touched the ball in the first 10.

our defence, or namely gallas. is a huge worry. i have no idea why avb persists with him.. he's too slow and not alert enough.

i'm glad avb went for it second half, it's just a shame dempsey is so poor.

the sooner bae and kaboul return the better. couple that with dembele and hopefully a playmaker, avb can then expect a full and fair assessment.

if manu hadn't have been sent off, i doubt we would have lost that game but it made for painful viewing.
