First half we played reasonably well but like last season, missed too many chances. Gera smashes one in the top corner and from there, any that could go wrong did go wrong. We weren't getting anything from Dowd today though; the Agger penalty incident was outside the box and how Olsson didn't even get booked for his challenge on Suarez is a mystery.

Aside from the poor finishing, the most disappointing thing from us today was the way we stopped playing after the 2nd penalty. WBA could have scored another 3 or 4 had they wanted to.

I don't know how many times I have to say it, doesn't matter how good your best players are, you don't win leagues, or cups, or anything when you have 3-4 absolutely clueless morons in the team. Gervinho and Walcott are both abysmal, I don't care if they score 10 goals in 5 games each, but are utterly woeful for 89 minutes in those games and 90mins in the other 33 games. You need players that are good all game long, Gervinho shouldn't have started, neither should Walcott.

What's the point in playing Podolski upfront when ultimately you want him to play left wing, he refused to take them on the preseason tour meaning they've barely played with the team. In the one preseason game they had Podolski started wide left and Giroud upfront, why change position straight away, how can the team gel if you change positions constantly and stupidly don't take new players on a preseason tour.

Every year its the same thing, great squad, sometimes fantastic squad, ruined by Wenger starting the worst players in that squad rather than the best. Arshavin is one of our best players, he is SO far ahead of Gervinho its a joke, we benched him before the end of a season he got 10 goals 18 assists in, then spent 14mil on his replacement and wondered why he stopped caring about Arsenal last season, then we got rid of him on loan. He's a fantastic player, Gervinho is so entirely rubbish and Arshavin so epically good, yet who starts.

Anyway, QPR, lol, need 4 new defenders and Fabio..... hahahahaha, truly truly awful.

The one thing they have going for them is they made chances, should have scored a couple and at least 3 of the goals were woeful woeful defending errors, Swansea were more than good but they were gifted the easiest of chances today, shocking defending. Onouha, Fabio, no idea why anyone has ever rated either of them, horrific defenders.

Fulham, one game I didn't see but great result for them, Norwich were actually better away from home than at home last year, not a good start at all for them. Fulham can be ruddy awesome at home though, shame their away form is abysmal.

Yeah, of course the game was over after the red card but none of the liverpool players (apart from Reina) showed any pride and determination to minimise the damage. Gerrard was completely anonymous.

I just hope we can defend the carling cup. :( Without spending £70mil on proven players liverpool is destined to become the next forest or leeds.

Seriously how quick are some fans to throw in the towel. It's a joke. Even if you don't spend another penny for the next 3 years that won't happen. Where's the fight and the support from the fans? What happened to you will never walk alone?

:D

What happened to actually bringing this manager in and giving him time to get your ball humpers playing football. Give it time for ****s sake! :p

Some things from the post-match:

'Giroud had a great chance, I think he had more time than he thought. He should have scored that one'

'Podolski is not [physically] ready yet but he has the quality. Giroud has a presence when he is on the pitch'

On Cazorla: 'It's difficult not to be pleased with Cazorla and he created all the chances'

On selling Song: 'We have Wilshere coming back now, we have Diaby back, we have Rosicky not far away and we might bring someone in'

'We were not very balanced and we didn't create enough. They blocked our midfield'

'We played with a good spirit... we lack sharpness at the moment and we couldn't convert our chances'

Some things from the post-match:

The question is how long before Wilshere gets back to full fitness and starts playing regular football for us as last season we missed him.

Pretty much spot on those comments, we lacked sharpness...need to rectify that before the next game.

Calmed down a bit now and you're right. We played well but can't score (Downing isn't good enough and Borini didn't look too hot either, and I don't know if Suarez will ever learn to score again at this rate.), Allen looked good.
Gerrard was pretty poor as well to be honest first half but after the first 10 minutes we were definitely the better team. We should have had a penalty first half. But then every refereeing decision did actually go against us today, wouldn't say it cost us a win, but it helped West Brom score all 3 goals. The last time I remember a ref throwing the game for us that bad was Kenny's first game in charge, lets not forget Dowd failed a fitness test recently also.

Roll on October, this could be a rough 2 months.
