Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th March 2016]

What's worrying is that I can't see City being that bad in the second half, so any chances we get in the second half need to be taken. Otherwise I can see City getting something out of this.

Missed our game and only just got about to watching some brief highlights. Southampton away is always going to be a difficult game, especially coming off the back of a tough game midweek but to be 2-0 at HT it's hugely frustrating not to come away with a win. From what I saw and have read, Skrtel looked all over the place but Flanagan's got to take his share of the blame. He was atrocious for their 1st goal and as soon as they got 1 back it was game on and we were always going to be hanging on towards the end. Had we put the game to bed in the first half then none of that would have mattered.

Some stat like Liverpool haven't lost from 2-0 up at HT in eleventy billion years, or at least 133 wins and 2 draws since they last lost from 2-0 at HT.

Not a great result. Only thing that ever surprised me with Skrtel was how few red cards he had. Never regarded him as great, he always pulled shirts badly, threw nasty elbows, smashed into players, way too aggressive and should have gotten multiple reds every season(more for two deserved yellows though he's deserved plenty of straight reds).

His success as a CB has come from getting away with being a thug. Still laugh that he got away with a flying kick putting studs into the middle of Jo's back, horrific 'tackle', assault really.

City are going to throw 4th away. They're a shambles defensively and overreliant on Aguero going forward. Unless De Bruyne comes back soon and is flying from the off then I can't see City making the CL.

When they want to be they can be great but all too often their players look like they'd rather be somewhere else.

Schneiderlin has looked really mobile today. Hes all over the place and actually moving with the ball.

This game seems so flat compared to the previous one. City's whole back line is sub par, it's mental how bad it is considering the money they've spent.

How is Carrick so slow. That simply cannot be his top speed. I can only assume that he just doesn't want to put the effort in to track runners. If Darmian hadn't taken over there it would have been a simple finish.

They were poor while he was not injured. Up till KDB were injured record against top half was 2 won, 3 drawn and 5 lost, now it's the same but 8 losses. So yeah they lost 100% of games without KDB which is technically worse but those games were Leicester, Spurs and Liverpool. City haven't beaten an in form team. The two wins are Chelsea when they were abysmal and Southampton during a very bad spell. Basically even with KDB the way they played with him and the teams they beat, there was almost no chance of a different result to those games.

Draws being Leicester home(they conceded 2), Liverpool away with Rodgers still there I guess and Liverpool being not great form and Arsenal... because Arsenal.

The team just sucks this year against quality opposition. Yaya is beyond out of form, Silva really only shines when everyone else is playing well enough to give him lots of space, under pressure he makes a lot of mistakes and is playing poorly since return from injury. Fernado is a joke, Fernandinho is playing better as a right winger than the DM he was brought in to be. They need a new spine in that team, one new CB, complete new central midfield and better rotation striker than Bony. Bony is good but he seems to be a player who needs consistent games to have form, he looks terrible as a infrequently used sub.
