After watching the the Suarez bite live and the numerous replays that followed I still am struggling to understand what sort of human being (he is human right), let alone an adult's first reaction is to bite someone. What thought process was involved? Surely it can't be by someone who is sane. You have to be mentality disturbed to sink your teeth into an opponent or any human being for that matter.

Yes he has done it before so when Ivanovic suggested he had been bit that definitely crossed my mind as a possibility. The FA need to act swiftly and give him a lengthy ban and substantial fine. Liverpool also need to act fast with their own punishment. They can't be seen to not disciplining their player for something that has been regarded as disgusting and appalling behavior.

The English game does not need this sort of publicity throughout the World's media.

SSN latest:

Luis Suarez has been fined by Liverpool and offered anger management counselling by the PFA after biting Branislav Ivanovic.

Waiting for news about training from the Kennel Club.

The rules are ****ed up, as I've said before, and the FAs excuse is bull**** too - Fifa don't allow appeals either but the FA do. However you don't draw the line and change the rules in the middle of a season because this is a high profile case. You do it at the end of the season.

And Liverpool will only suspend him if they think a ban is coming from the FA, if not then I can't see it happening - the same way City didn't ban Aguero for example.

Edit: and to those saying Liverpool should sell him, why? You do realise that we signed him directly after he got banned for the same thing in Holland? If the club feel that he's too good a player to lose then they'll put up with what he comes with, just like when Utd didn't sack/sell Cantona after he attacked a fan. If we get a fee that the club feels would allow us to improve the side as a whole then he'll go but that's no different to any other player.

I dont buy into the idea he should be sold as I think that just gives into media pressure. Either way the headlines are already in the bank for this summer. if he goes it will be as a result of this indiscretion. We want the best players playing for our clubs.

Without being the picker of nits Cantona got done for kicking someone who racially abused him. Suarez bit an opposing player unprovoked. I'm hoping we can see the difference here, even if it is subtle to some ;)

So would i be wrong in assuming that since City lost yesterday to Spurs that if Utd beat Villa tonight then they could very well be EPL champions??.

If so thats great, last thing i wanted to see was Utd win the title at Arsenal this weekend coming:p.

Been a boring title race with City playing like utter turd for most of the season, couldnt even summon up enough pride to actually defend the title :/

I guess now the excitement will be for who will end up getting 3rd and 4th, 3 way race between Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea.

You are right but the way united have been playing lately even tonight's match going to be hard work for them sadly. I just hope they go out all guns blazing and put the title to bed. I cant see them beating Arsenal or Chelsea in current form.

Probably but then defensively Villa are weak so i expect Utd to score a few goals courtesy of RVP. For Villa its probably one of the most important games for them as they are so close to the relegation zone so they need a result somehow.

LOL i dont think Arsenal will get a result against Utd so for me, Utd winning the title tonight would be good enough for me...last thing i want to see is Utd winning it at Arsenal with RVP...something i just couldnt stomach:p

Why is it? There was a sub (and further stoppages) during added time which would have accounted for the extra added time.

I've never understood why managers make substitutions in injury time, the time usually gets added on for it so it's not like they're wasting any. I suppose they'll argue it breaks up play but it also disrupts the focus and balance of their own team.

There was a match the other day with a sub brought on with about 15secs to go (92:45 with +3mins or something like that), pretty stupid really.

A lot of referees won't add the time from the sub to the extra time so it effectively wastes that thirty seconds. People on here are moaning because this wasn't the case, ie. the referee was actually doing something correctly.

The Guy was Mathew Symmonds (SP?) He was giving it big about Eric being French and some unsavouries about his mother if I remember correctly. A very nasty piece of work. I think he also got done for violence at his sons football game (under 8s or something)

Oh, I didn't think insulting nationality was racism or using it as part of an insult was. That said it does seem the guy is a racist and a massive **** from that article.

Thinking about it more, it's a really difficult one for the FA. On the one hand, biting someone is, as others have said, the act of a complete nutjob. Surely anyone sane would kick, punch, or even headbutt somebody they were frustrated with enough to assault. From that perspective, it's deserving of a long ban, and Liverpool need to look closely at whether to keep him.

On the other hand, if the consideration is the possible damage Suarez could have done, it's relatively minimal. Assuming he doesn't have any STIs (!), he's never going to end Ivanovic's career by doing that, and will probably cause less damage than a full blown punch or two footed challenge. From that perspective, it's violent conduct, three match ban, everyone moves on.

Difficult one and I can't decide which side of the fence I fall on. I think the ideal solution would be for the FA to give him a 3 match ban, as per their rulebook, and Liverpool to ban him for longer for bringing the club into disrepute, and to try to prevent him from doing anything similar again. Pretty sure that that won't happen though!

Are the Liverpool players going to wear shirts in support of Suarez again?

It was properly, properly mental.
