Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 22nd November 2011]

We just generally controlled the game in terms of playing more passes successfully together, more possession and more shots on target. Many of their chances came through mistakes by us so to say they created them is wrong imo.

I dont think anyone can say we didn't deserve to win today, we attacked i dont know how many times, had the ball for long periods of time in their half and if it wasn't for some very good defending it would have been far more.

I didn't say you didn't deserve to win, I questioned whether it was as easy as you suggested. You could have been 2-0 down at HT had things been slightly different.

And as much as their chances may have been down to your mistakes, all 3 of your goals came from Newcastle mistakes too.

I know you didnt mate i am just saying.

As much as our goals came through them making mistakes i would still say it was an easy win, i just think we did a lot more to win the game and considering like i said it was very clear the players did not stress themselves with the CL on tuesday.

I guess our goals did but we took them and Newcastle fortunately did not.

Other than the goal (which was fairly good), we've been pretty rubbish so far.

The team look uninspired and like they aren't really sure how to attack. Bizarre.

As much as I love SAF, I am starting to get really bored with the way he sets out his players to play. Its so old fasioned and flat.

Maybe a change in management might be a good thing. Jose or Pep would be interesting. Not sure how they would do but can't see anyone else taking the job.

our attacking play consists of passing the ball in a semi circle around the goal until we lose it. There's no one that attempts to do a 1-2 or play through them.

I think we should stick Rooney, Hernandez and Berbatov up-front and just have a 3 man central midfield, and see how that works out.

We can always bring on wingers if width would help, but most of the recent games just have Rooney running around between the oppositions defence and midfield, looking for a pass through the middle but having to pass it out wide to Nani who just does something wasteful. :(

The problem is what are the wingers meant to be doing?

I mean Park is never going to be a run down the wing and cross kind of player, he's trying to play in the same area as Giggs and Rooney and is just getting in the way.

Same with Nani really, he can run down and cross but to who? It's only been Hernandez in the box for a lot of the time, not exactly a prime target.

Having Rooney, Chico and Berba upfront would be cringe worthy. Chico is always caught off side and Berba stands still when he doesn't have the ball.

Man UTD haven't created anything even the goal was put on a plate for them, should be 1-1 if Sinclair hadn't fluffed an open net.
