Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 24th April 2019]

I wouldn’t keep a single player on the pitch if I had my way over the summer. Bin the whole lot off except Shaw, the guy isn’t brilliant but his attitude is spot on.

That's been the problem with this united team for years, their attitude is pitiful.

I'd say De Gea needs to stay if possible, keep Rashford but the rest really are candidates for sell and replace.

Utd really don't deserve top 4 - really hard to admit that, but they haven't been putting the effort in for the last month or so (Arsenal result was a bit unlucky but certainly after that)

I feel for Ole but this squad is showing two things (1) how badly Jose let the rot set in, - ie how incapable Utd squad were capable of a decent pressing game for more than 6 - 8 weeks before dropping off - happened to Liverpool and others when Klopp first came in but the "rebound" seems far worse for utd (2) just how average some of these players are, and how the top quality players are also not that bothered - Carra was spot on about Pogba before the match, and DDG just looks nonplussed about 2 errors he has had today alone

On Everton, what a turnaround from them in the last couple of months. It wasn't that long ago that they were in free fall and Silva was a dead man walking, now things look a lot brighter.

Agreed, although still has consistency issues (last week proving that). Really no idea why its suddenly started to click for us, against the big guns too.

Not Ole's fault tbh, United's current crop of defenders....actually, current crop of players full stop, are just bang average.

They arent. They aren't as good as wolves or Everton both teams embarrassing us packed with average players themselves.

We are below average in many areas and our gake plan/preparation us obviously shocking.

When you get out footballed by wolves you should be able to recognise that.

at these performance level its not going to be a Manchester Derby at all - its going back to the early 90's when it was just an ordinary game (because one team is so much more dominant than the other) - I don't see Utd getting anything from Chelsea either after today

I'd go full old style champ man mode on these players and fine them all a weeks wages for poor performance. Then they'd all hopefully hand in transfer requests.

From the outside looking in they need a British core again. Plenty of good young Brits you can go after to build that back in since you've stopped developing them.

Sancho, Hudson Odoi (since Chelsea seem reluctant to commit to him) Rice, Sessengion, Tierney heck you could even try pressurising Spurs to see if they would bend on Kane.

As long as I've watched the Prem ManU have always seemed to have a British core at what they do, now it's just assorted mercs like Chelsea.

It's sad that smalling and Jones left over from the sad fergie days are still mainstays. They were a joke then and haven't gotten any better.

Young was a bad player as a winger and hasntvreally gotten any better as a defender. He was a makeshift temporary positional player who simply slipped the net and ended up being our defacto right back somehow.

Our midfielders mate and Herrera were never amazing for us.

Matic like I said was a 1 season player because his legs are shot.

You cant build a team without a credible defence or midfield. The EPL is just too fast and competitive to do so.

Manchester United could actually hand the title to Liverpool on Wednesday, after a performance like that there is no way there won’t be a reaction against city.
