Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 2nd September 2012]

442 doesn't work with Cisse/Ba. They are both much better peeling off and having a bit of space, playing with their backs to goal seems to suit neither.

He changed to 442 to suit Ba/Cisse and incorporate them both more effectively but it looks like a poor move at best as they both look less effective for it :p

Carrick unforced error again. This is what happens when players realise they'll get picked no matter how they play :( Carrick could score a hat trick of own goals and he'd still be on the teamsheet the next game with Fergie calling him world classs.

Carrick is jogging in the middle as they attack, we just have no tactics on display here, this is mindless football.
Seriously, watch Carrick and Cleverley's contribution specifically when we're in their half with the ball. Drive, creativity, vision, it's effectively zero.

Doesn't matter when 2 of them are ordinary.

Fergie destroying the confidence of De Gea as well by dropping him publicly, and playing Wellbeck over Nani (who needs game time to improve consistancy and confidence), id probably throw a toaster in the bath if I was dropped for Wellbeck.

I don't get the love for Welbeck either. He's clearly not good enough at the moment, so the only answer can be that he thinks given enough time on the pitch he will be, but I just can't see it at all.

Wellbeck has done nothing to make me believe he is anything more than a below average player, to be honest he is better suited to championship football or below, he is most certainly not a player to be used so often in a title challenging team.
