Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 2nd September 2012]

he's got us one more point than rodgers has gotten you :D

zing! :D

Newcastle look garbage after 45mins, nothing happening and Villa have played us well. Back to 433 what worked rather than forcing a system on the team that isn't suited!

HAWAY THE LADS!!!

half finishes with Carrick again giving the ball away.

Well that was even worse than the Everton first half, managed to score thanks to a defender slipping but we've created nothing. Look **** in midfield and **** in defence :(

Can Rodgers realy be stupid enough to move Carroll on and then replace him in the squad with Owen. He can't surely??

I don't think he should have let Carroll out on loan but I think Owen would be good for Liverpool. Will suit their play a lot better.

Absolutely shocking performance so far;

Lindegaard - crap
Carrick - crap
Kagawa - crap
Welbeck - crap
RVP - apart from a nicely taken goal crap

What's most concerning though that apart from Rooney and the keeper this is arguably our strongest side :o

I am not watching the game but from the comments, could the players be playing so poorly because Carrick/others aren't pushing forward enough? Always passing it back?

Like a domino effect?

Realy i thought you'd been sudgesting all through the transfer thread that there wasn't much to improve?

We are just not energetic enough. All our passes have been lacking pace meaning our receiving man has a man snapping at his heels. Need to put Nani on to inject a bit of pace / forward momentum.

We're not real challengers I don't think, not based on performances anyway. I see last seasons problems continuing this season because we haven't fixed the area that decides whether it's us or them that controls the flow of the game.

Looking at it as objectively as possible, I don't see Carrick or Cleverley do anything that would make me want them in our side if they played for someone else.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told BBC Radio 5live he has the option to recall Andy Carroll from his season long loan at West Ham.

From BBC 5Live 606 Facebook.

There is no tactics on display at all. Valencia is the only attacking player that seems to have a role. Welbeck is sometimes up front, sometimes out left being **** at both. RvP has no supply at all, still managed to score. Cleverley is having to stay deep to cover for calamity carrick who has been the worse I've ever seen him, easily lost the ball 6/7 times without pressure in one half.

Kagawa has slipped a couple of times and again doesn't seem to have a clear role, sometimes he's been out left, sometimes in the middle. He hasn't clicked with RvP yet.
