Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th December 2017]

Thoroughly entertaining game, goals, some great play, great saves, controversy and a red card. Lovely.

What a ridiculous game, individual quality shone through and won it for us but I'm not sure what happened to the tactics.

Shame about Pogba but a stupid tackle.

I can see why its given but at playing speed I actually think that red is harsh - but Pogba should also know better for going into an in-necessary challenge

The whole team stood up today and really proud of them, Lingard /DDG both should be motm Lingard really worked hard for both his goals but DDG for 14 saves (even if 1/2 dozen were relatively easy)

really good win even if I cant see us even getting a draw next weekend with Pogba out

Big miss against City obviously but we have West Brom and Bournemouth as the other two

If we cant get decent results without Pogba against those two (no disrespect meant) - we were never in the title race to begin with

Should have been a penalty for the Iwobi tackle, not one for the Laca tackle imo, but it was like 1-2 minutes after Kos should have had a red card which would have killed the momentum of the game and made it much more difficult.

The idea it was covered when at the time he was clipped Bellerin was a good 8 yards deeper and 15 yards over from Lukaku and he would have had a clear run at goal once ahead of Kos. It was a clear as day goal scoring chance.

Arsenal play like that once we're behind in a game and very rarely struggle to do it normally. Rudderless end to the game, no real chances, the panic system of every striker and no providers on the pitch. Taking off a attacking fullback to have another striker playing out of position is pointless. Giroud kept ending up wide left and doing nothing with the ball. We needed passing and precision to unlock that defence so Wilshere on for someone realistically.

Do you know what I'm going to say that was a harsh red. They're both going for the ball and Bellerin practically lays down in front of someone running at full pace. Pogba doesn't intentionally break his stride to stamp on him or anything, there's just suddenly a guy's leg lying down below him. It's obviously not intentional. if that is a red then why doesn't Koscielny get a red for headbutting Matic? Answer because it was an accidental clash of heads, this looks just as accidental.

He stretches his leg much further than the preceding stride, intentional all day long. Also not convinced that his trailing leg landing on his ankle is just part of his natural stride either.

Think serious pro Utd goggles are needed to watch that and see no red.

100% this. It's not as if he's carried on his run and stood on Bellerin (which wouldn't be an excuse) - he clearly changes his stride and looks very much like his intentionally done Bellerin.

Agree with this. Not intentional.

He knows the player's there, so he can't go in with his studs like that.

But he doesn't go in with his studs, he's just running, you have to lift your leg to run. If Bellerin is standing up then there isn't even a foul. It's only because he lays his leg on the ground that there's any contact at all. It's a simple accident like a clash of heads.

Obvious motivation is that Bellerin had just launched Young head over heels (which he got away lightly with)

And you think seeing his teammate fouled would cause Pogba to intentionally stamp on someone? Has he ever done it before? We were winning and he hardly looked angry. His reaction was not the reaction of someone who was trying to hurt someone.
