Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th December 2017]

If Bellerin doesn't lie his leg down there isn't even contact. How can it possibly be reckless and dangerous if that's the case? It was simply Bellerin's unnatural reaction, that caused any contact. It's accidental contact, no different to a clash of heads.
:o

LOL ok.

United fan so will be ignored but...

From the side it looks bad. From behind it is pretty clear that he stretched for it a little (and won the ball). His studs weren't up and he wasn't out of control. Bellerin decided to genuflect as some form of tackle and Pogba stood on his calf. If he had stood up it would have been a case of having his toe stepped on. For me it was a yellow at worst.

Pogba saw where he was and changed his stride to stamp on him.

He stretched his foot to get the ball and did.
But also ended up stamping on Bellerin's calf. As soon as you stretch/lunge into a challenge like that it's dangerous and you're getting sent off. I think it was intentional but regardless of the intent, the challenge is a red card.

Is it really any different to Koscielny heat-butting Matic?

I can see why it was a red and it’s worse in a slow motion replay. At full speed ther looks like there is zero intent unless he is a ninja. Bellarin goes down for the tackle very strangely and I think it was probably just bad luck in the end.

We can’t really have any complaints about the red though. Sometimes you do something accidentally bad and that was one of those.

Watching motd and it's quite fitting how Arsenal scored from a mistake by Ramsey. Had he controlled that he'd have probably missed.

edit: and Koscielny's the biggest myth in football. He's by far the worst 'world class' defender I've ever seen.

Right call for the non penalty on Wellbeck, any player wearing gold boots deserves every decision to go against them.

What the hell is that defending from Mbemba all about for Morata's goal? Just throws himself on the ground when he can try to cut it out....

Got lightly touched on the back, on another day with another ref that would have been called a foul and no goal :p
