Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th December 2017]

City don't deserve that imo, they've been so below par it's not even funny.

Awesome from De Bruyne though, great ball.
Ah, you generally get what you deserve imo. They've not played great but they've still been better than West Ham and tbh, give me poor passing over time wasting any day.

Man City have been crap but have done ten times more than WH to win the game! This is like a PL team vs league 2 team in the FA cup.

They could have been, they didn't make it clear. I like Silva, he's been an excellent player for City, but even limiting it to claiming he's the best no.10 in premier league history is very questionable.

Cantona (albeit technically didn't wear 10 more than a few times) or Bergkamp.
Both of those are strikers/forwards, Silva's very much a midfielder.

I've been trying to think of all the creative midfielders that there's been over the years to compare him with and there's really not that many. Coutinho's been mentioned but other than a few games recently and 1/4 of a season under Rodgers he's played mostly in a front 3 rather than a midfield role and it's a similar story with most of the other obvious candidates. Mata's mainly played in a wide role, even the likes of Ozil and Eriksen have probably played more in a wide attacking role rather than in midfield.

I'm sure there's been others that I just can't think of right now but the only players I can think to compare him with (that have performed well at least) are Modric and Fabregas. Modric didn't really perform well enough for a long enough period but Fabregas is decent shout, although the fact that he's a total **** goes against him.
