Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th December 2017]

Southampton could have really done with £60m odd to strengthen their squad in the summer.
We'd probably just have bought £60m worth of dross like Redmond. At least when you buy Van Dijk this summer for £30m following a crap season we won't waste quite so much money.

And he didn't, how often do you see a defender go to ground like that in front of someone? I'd say that is a very unlikely occurrence so to me it's not likely to put an opponent at risk at all, it was a freak clash.
As I said earlier, it's fortunate that Bellerin did bottle it because if he too stretches out his leg and his foot plants in the ground then that's a leg breaker.

You did see that we started with Can and Wijnaldum at CB yesterday? You could get more out of us in January than what we were going to pay in the summer, we're desperate.

If his foot is planted in the ground then Pogba doesn't even make contact. Did you watch before Bellerin laid his leg down? It's like saying "well if Bellerin had his head there then he might have been seriously injured." Sure if Bellerin had his leg planted, and Pogba had tackled entirely differently then yes it might have been an injury.

Ok Shami, I love a debate more than anybody but even I'm losing the will to live. We'll just wait for the outcome of the appeal.

If Pogba’s been dealt a huge injustice then I’m sure they’ll appeal it and the decision be overturned. At which point I’m sure Baz will hold his hands up. But if that doesn’t happen and he isn’t playing at Citeh, I presume his defenders here will admit to being wrong?

Yes because all wrong decisions have been overturned and they're incredibly consistent.

No they haven't and aren't but at the very least Utd will appeal it, right? Your most important player missing your most important game due to a wrong decision - it's a certainty that you'll appeal.

Depends do they still do the extending the ban thing sometimes? probably wouldn't risk it for that.

I don't think Pogba meant it with any malice (I can't see why he would) and yes Bellerin's position is very odd - but it does look bad and you can see why it's been given.

It's along the same lines as Mane on Ederson, he didn't mean to hurt him, but a flying ninja kick to someone's face at full speed is going to be a red card.

They only do that if the appeal is considered frivolous, which considering that it was never a red then that's not going to be any concern. So an appeal will surely be going in?

City have been garbage so far.

Edit: Continue to be absolute garbage, worst first half i've seen from them this season by a country mile.
