Moyes never wins against top 4 teams in the league, I really hope he doesn't break that tradition next week.
I think the stat was he hadn't beaten Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Utd away. He picked up the odd win at home.
Yeah it's not as horrendous as it would seem, Utd and City and Spurs, all at home. Year before was City, Chelsea and Spurs again all home. Year before that was Liverpool, Spurs, City and Chelsea at home and... City away
09/10 City, Chelsea, Utd home and City away.
Everton this year though are 2 points up on last year, which was probably 5 points on average ahead of where Everton have been in the 5 years before last season. So Martinez is beaten Moyes best Everton start in the past 6 years already and beating Moyes average start by pretty much 50% which is pretty ridiculous.
from 08-12 Everton lost anything from 3-6 games out of the first 10, this and last year it's only 1 loss in the first 10 games. So there has been a pretty massive improvement in Everton in the past two years, but Martinez is still doing better.
Everton started great last year but then went on a streak of draws, game 7-17 was 2 wins, 1 loss 8 draws. If Martinez can extend this mostly winning streak over the next 7 games they could end up significantly ahead of where they were last year. This is including the team being "meh" in the first 3 games adapting to playing much more passing, possession and attacking football.
I have a feeling Martinez's Everton will pretty much embarrass Moyes's Everton in his first season.
