Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2 - 4th March 2013]

Even before thinking about the relative price tags (of course someone transferred for £50m is going to get more critisizm than another player transferred for ~£15m still settling into the country / club)

That's not his fault though, its the dummies who paid that.

No it didn't escape my notice at all, just those who reckon players should be exempt of criticism because of their form for another club full stop are daft. Kagawa aint at Dortmund anymore, he's at a different club who play a different way who will play him in a different way therefore that previous form is irrelevant. No one worth taking notice off has ever wrote Kagawa off completely and said he wont come good but just like when Rooney has a bad game and someone points it out the fact that Kagawa's a new signing shouldn't make him exempt from criticism when he does the same and the fact of the matter is he's had more bad games than he has good so far.

Dunno why so many get menstrual about it?

Which is all very well, but has been completely ignored by certain posters who have written his form off. No talk of him 'adjusting' just him being useless. He's a world class player in the making, and is adjusting to a new league, team and style, he's had injuries and has to travel long distances to play internationally. He's not had more bad games than he has had good so far.

People shouldn't judge players just on their goal tally, their contribution and play should be taken in to account. Which it isn't, which leads to the usual Manchester United crowd have their usualy knee jerk reactions.

I like the menstrual comment, it's cute how much you dislike me :3.

Like I said the people who have wrote him off all together aren't worth worrying about especially when one is known to like baiting other supporters and the other has it in for him simply because he's from Japan and not Brazil or Belgium.

Di Matteo was crap in the league though?

They were 3rd at the time and only 4pts off United after a couple of losses/draws, he was sacked mainly because they went out of the Champions League at the group stage. I don't know what the brains behind an 'interim' manager was though, they should have just kept Di Matteo on until they found a suitable replacement. Benitez has done no better and is practically at war with the fans.

Some of the effort shown (or lack of it) is his fault though.

If anyone is prepared to pay that much in a transfer for any player (and not forgetting the pretty wonderful wages on top), the least the player could do is show the same effort every single game

nah, he's not that type of player, you can't knock his effort, he's tried to make it work down there, he's just lacking his sharpness. Chelsea paid too much for him at the time..he wasnt quite the same player after that injury.

...it's a bit of mystery really why it hasnt worked out down there.. maybe he doesn't have same love for Chelsea as he did for Liverpool, that's a wild guess though, it could be numerous personal factors that we don't know about, or it could he's never really recovered mentally and physically from that injury. Who knows!

Torres really is the oddest transfer ever, world class player he was.

tbf I dont give a monkeys how he plays - but there are a lot of Chelsea supports who have questioned his effort in the past.

Didnt mean to suggest its every game, but there have been reports of his effort being lacking last season and this season

Can't believe we got so much money for him. Got to feel sorry for him though, he looked distraught.

No fair enough, he just looks slow and little bit depressed when he plays tbh.
