Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20 - 26th December 2013]

I hadn't paid any close attention to Southampton's form, or more to the point who they've played. I knew they hadn't picked up many points but remember them still mostly playing well recently.

Last 7 games were Arsenal(away), Chelsea(away), Villa(home), City(home), Newcastle(away), Spurs(home).

Outside of Villa you wouldn't expect them to necessarily win or even draw any of the rest(assuming Spurs didn't have an idiot in charge). The draws against City and Newcastle are very good overall, losses to Arsenal/Chelsea you wouldn't expect much more. Fairly narrow losses and weren't terrible, Spurs, not great defensively, but Spurs were good offensively. Really horrible run in and with key injuries. 2 points from those games isn't terrible at all.

Somehow they've got Cardiff next but then Everton and Chelsea, but then a pretty tasty 6 week run of mostly easy teams to play, that will probably make their season or see it fall apart. Hope they pick back up.

Without all the injuries though, whilst many people may not have expected them to, I think they could have taken at least 5 or 6 points from those games rather than just 2, the way the first choice team had been playing.

Is it snowing in North London?
I'm about 15 miles away from the ground and its raining here. But temperatures are quite mild.

Why the inspection?

Exactly, the day a football game gets called off because it's windy and raining is when I stop watching.

95/96 (I think) the year Newcastle were first promoted to the EPL their second last game of the season was called off due to rain. It was going to be my first game ever against Leicster :( as it was we won the replay 7-1 in a really famous game for us :(

Games will get called off more likely due to crap transport shutting down.

Everyone is so scared of any accidents and lawsuits they will just stop services so fans cant get anywhere. Not saying it will happen tonight, but in the future.
