Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th - 24th November 2015]

Haha, Klopp is an absolute legend, hard to dislike that guy.

True and I think thats something which irks fans of other teams, traditionally they've always been able to have a pop at Liverpool managers but its hard to have a go at Klopp. Especially as some many of them would love him as their teams manager

We're a mile off the top at the moment but we've played all of the top 7 from last year away from home and only lost once, have Sakho, Henderson and Sturridge to come back from injury and now have a world class manager to take us forward. Beginning to think we might have the players to challenge for a top 4 position this season with very little change in personal in the winter transfer window.

Coutinho will likely be out for two to three weeks and they can't afford to rush him back. A shame as Liverpool are really beginning to gel and their work rate is great. Benteke, Sturridge staying fit, Firmino playing well and a fit Coutinho will worry any defence. Be interesting if Liverpool buy and if they do, who. Not many clubs will let people leave in January.

Not sure I'd go quite that far yet. He is a very good manager though from what we've seen of him at Dortmund (although Dortmund have had some pretty special players while he was the manager). We might just be seeing the "new manager effect" going on at Liverpool at the moment. My mum's jack russell could have given the players more confidence than Brendan Rodgers was doing by the time he left.

If he can win the league with Liverpool in the next few seasons then I think it would be justifiable calling him world class, but not before.

I'm not sure how I feel about La Marseillaise being played tomorrow, it was brilliant at Wembley but that was England v France.
I've no problem with a minutes silence of course and will respect that thoroughly but I don't know how I'm going to feel about the anthem until tomorrow, I'll probably end up signing along.
I've no doubt there will be idiots at every game who will disrespect the occasion unfortunately though.

I have to say that the anthem was very well respected and there were no ***** booing or anything like that.
There was even a very large Tricolour passed around the North Stand prior to kick off which was commissioned and paid for by the fans, that was a nice touch.
And we managed to beat Norwich, an amazing day all round.

Loving how my team, Leicester, are ripping the prem to pieces at the mo.

Man Utd next week.......bring it on!!

This is where it'll get tough for you, over the next month or so you play Man Utd + City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Impressive run so far though.

Edit - just saw this posted on another forum

Whats so special about April 4th? Surely just a random date, no?

Vagaries of the league schedule more than anything - especially given Leicester haven't played any of the "normal" top 5 yet this season. Last 4 fixtures on the trot for this half of the season could be an absolute nightmare.

don't get me wrong, they are a great team doing astoundingly well with low budget players (like Southampton season before last but better /with cheaper players), lets see where they are @ New Years day after having played everyone once. Would be interesting to see them without Vardy and if they are still equally lethal in the opposition's half.

Well done to Liverpool, good to see Firmino coming on song, didn't think it would take him long once he got a string of games together. Fantastic away win, no question and fully deserved but a few things went in their favour yesterday , ie. away game = less pressure on Liverpool let alone at league topping side -before these fixtures-, after Int break always throws up odd results, Silva and Kompany missing (even bigger misses than Sturridge for Liverpool), and aguerro not being anywhere near fit - not to mention still under the "new manager" aura which is always a big boost for the first few months

City really are flat-track bullies at the moment, so a result for Liverpool wasn't out of the question anyway , but such an amount of "daylight" in the score line was quite comical to see.

If Chelsea do fail in getting into the top four and/ or Utd completely **** up (which isn't out of the question by any means), I still think Everton and even possibly West Ham are more likely to stay ahead of Liverpool come the end of the season and get the top 4, although Liverpool will probably end up ahead of the likes of Spurs. The pressure on the team at anfield will be their undoing.

Probably the date they've been doing consistently well since. I have no doubts that this coming month will put paid to that, i just liked seeing a smaller team doing so well is all.

We have played Arsenal at home and lost 5-2 although the score could have finished 7-7. Granted, our next few games are very tough and I expect us to drop off now, similar to Southampton last year.

We'll finish 8th I'd wager.

I'm glad the likes of Vardy and Mahrez are making all the headlines as that is distracting the media from the players that are making the real difference to our fortunes this year!
