Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 25th November 2014]

one play was directly involved in 50% of their goals last season.
replacing him with utter trash was only going to end one way.

Lovrent makes a goal scoring mistake or 2 every game, he can't tackle, pass, no positional sense, can't head the ball and cost us 20 million - mind boggling decision.

Same applies to Gerrard.

Take them out and we might start to not concede

Do the Liverpool fans on here think that you spent the Suarez money well in any way shape or form?

Yes.

I don't think Lovren is as bad as he is performing right now, I think defensively we're coached very poorly and setup very poorly to deal with it. That said I wasn't overly arsed on spending that amount on him anyway.

Other signings I'm reasonably okay with, not arsed on Lallana and our striker situations was clearly last resort as no one better wanted to come to us/we wouldn't pay and Borini wouldn't **** off. The summer signings bar lack of a great striker that suits us are not whats cost us imo. Poor coaching defensively, shattered confidence throughout the team and a complete lack of movement in front of our midfielders in comparison to how we played so fast last year.

Moreno, Manquillo, Lallana and Lambert were all decent signings and add good depth or improve upon what we had but Markovic, Balotelli and Lovren have all been shocking so it's a mixed bag.

Realistically only the brain dead would expect us to sell Suarez and replace him with an equally good player. A lot of Liverpool supporters would probably disagree but he's been the best Liverpool player I've ever seen play for us and by quite a margin so for me he's irreplaceable unless we had the pulling power and money to get a Ronaldo or Messi which we don't and didn't.

We've had no luck in these last few games but we've played ****. Our defence is getting worse, we can't attack and we have no shape or identity anymore.

I'm starting to worry that Rodgers' bottle has gone. No doubt it's harder without Suarez and Sturridge being injured but we've got to get back to playing like last season. There's no energy or tempo to our game anymore, we're just hoping to sneak a goal and praying that we won't concede and neither looks like happening. We used to start games at 100mph with Henderson, Allen, Coutinho and Sterling steamrolling opposition midfields.
No chance. Deserves the season at least regardless of how bad we get after the work he's done over the last few seasons.

If things don't improve soon he won't get much past the New Year.

Lovrent only looked decent at Southampton because he had 2 powerful dm's in front of him last year - by all acounts he was just as **** for lyon as he is playing for us . We're see ing the true lovren

Don't think Markovic was ever expected to come in instantly and perform.
Can has been decent too, may take a little while as he's pretty young too.

Lovren and Balo have been the worst, Lovren for how he's performed and Mario how he has been used.

Best player the league has seen in a long time, certainly the most exciting it will ever see, obviously not old enough to have seen Kenny and stuff play but I imagine a direct comparison to older generations the more recent players will always be better.

Heard that before. I refuse to believe he was this bad when asked to do anything, he has one or two difficult situations a game and he cocks them up every single time, I really doubt he did that all the time before.

You have to question why though, he moved to Southampton from Lyon and very quickly settled, picking up a lot of praise for being the rock in the Southampton defence that saw us maintain such a fantastic defensive record (until we had an injured keeper).

He's not a crap player (or at least hasn't been previously) so what has changed now he's at Liverpool that has turned him into a defensive liability?
