Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 26th October 2011]

Even though they have won loads of titles and a european cup since Keane left all of a sudden they need world class super human midfielder. Despite not having one for X seasons.

The area they whinge about moves season to season.

Perhaps they should actually ask questions on the United youth developement/coaches system because none of them that come through since the early 90's have been good enough.

you have to look at the england team, who in the past 3/4 years has came through and been amazing?

Hart a goalkeeper is the only one. That Walker guy at tottenham looks really good though and you could argue if he keeps it up, he also.

Englands youth is in a state, binge drinking, drug taking, etc. Talent being wasted, the whole setup is wrong, look at Barcelona, they take kids away from their friends and families, away from all the bad influences and instill a way of life which is the footballing way from a very early age.

The whole youth system in this country is corrupt and wrong, the FA should be looking into it, rather than all this financial fair play nonsense.

Fergie didn't even play Rafael at rb when he was fit in big games - opting for smalling or someone like Valencia - preferring their height as i remember. the likelyNess of him dropping evra for fabion and Rafael at rb must be like zero right?

Mots United fans have been asking for central midfield to strengthen for 3/4 seasons it's becoming plain now how weak we are in that area compared to our rivals (although Chelsea are now suffering there with Lampard losing it a bit)

Just because we haven't had one for many years doesn't make it any less needed

only if we win badly !

This is what I don't understand about you, we beat Chelsea are you bitch and moan that we could have drawn/lost the game indicating that you think chelsea were the better team on the day yet had the roles been reversed and Chelsea won that day and were the more clinical with their chances and it was United missing opportunities left right and centre would you be so on here saying how United were the better side, could have drawn/won? No of course you wouldn't, you'd be on here bemoaning the lack of quality in front of goal no doubt suggesting we should be playing Andy Carroll up front with N'Zogbia behind him with Rooney in midfield.

You constantly go on about how Chelsea have improved and United haven't, this despite the fact that as things stand we're above them in the table, have beaten them this season and for all our deficiencies they themselves have more than enough of their own which you fail to realise as you look up to them on that pedestal you've place them on :o

McCarthy said: "I almost think some turn up hoping it is going to be that way so they can have their whinge and get shot of the manager.

"They are not going to get shot of the chairman or the players, so it's a case of, 'Let's give it to the gaffer'.

Mick calling DM and Nick without even meeting them.

that's odd i thought that tom84 had ignored me? at least you keep saying you did.

my point was more that yes while we did win, if you look objectively the scoreline was slightly flattering and that our performances as a whole over the last 7 games has been pretty poor. won 3 drawn 3 lost 1. the games we drew we didn't deserve to win. the games we won didn't set the imagination on fire.

plus you mention Carroll - was it not apparent on Sunday that our strikers were never going to win enough headers against a big defence rendering our game plan based around crossing and wingplay was going to struggle? that we could have used a bigger strikers for more impact was quite an obvious conclusion really. i would have preferred berba to wellbeck starting. but the way Fergie has resigned him to be chief benchwarmer that wasn't going to happen.

Manchester United: Amos, Jones, Vidic, Fryers, Fabio Da Silva, Valencia, Cleverley, Park, Diouf, Owen, Berbatov. Subs: De Gea, Vermijl, Michael Keane, Pogba, William Keane, Morrison, Cole..

So this is what we've been saving premier league top scorer Berbatov for!!!!111 :p

Hope Pogba gets on at some point, hope Valencia does....anything.

Striker Carlos Tevez has been fined four weeks wages, been given a two weeks suspension (which has been deemed to already have been served) and warned about his future conduct by the club following an internal investigation into his conduct at Bayern Munich.
