Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22 - 26th December 2012]

I think they were very kind on that Swansea player. People tend to kick the ball away in frustration, usually over a contentious decision. Their anger is generally clear from their body language and facial expression.
For this, the foul was clear and he is calm. He's also looking at RVP the whole time. So we unfortunately have to assume it was intentional.
They also managed to completely ignore the trip and subsequent hand in his face.

Swansea seem to have mastered the dark arts this season so I'm not surprised they're 6 points better off than they were last year, the amount of niggly fouls they made was pretty ridiculous.

I can't stand Dion Dublin. Possible only 2nd to Mark Bright on my most hated pundits list.

I ran into him in person in a Chinese takeaway when he played for Cambridge united. What an utter ****. It was when united got to the quarters of the fa cup two years on the trot.

He came in jumped the queue, gave his order and asked for a coke while he waited. Necked it in one like he was a super hero, turned to me and said...

"Here son, keep this it will be worth a fortune in a few years, it's had my lips round it.

I didn't laugh at all when he broke his leg after his million pound move to Man U ;)

That was a lovely Christmas present at the Bridge yesterday afternoon. A much need tonic for everyone. Rafa is certainly beginning to make the team play with some purpose. David Luiz impresses again in his second role. Frank Lampard scoring on his 500th Premier League start. He's still got some left and should be kept by the club as should Ashley Cole. We still got the support for RDM on the 16th minute but that was all on that front.

There was a perfect end after the match when the police held us from going into Fulham Broadway station for a few minutes and some wag started singing:

Who scored a goal against Aston Villa.........Halfa (sounded like Arfur)
Who scored a goal against Aston Villa.........Halfa
Who scored a goal against Aston Villa.........Halfa bloody Chelsea
.... repeat.....

Had everyone in stiches including the police and their horses.

Merry Christmas to you all. :)

"You should've went Christmas shopping"
"Went Christmas shopping"

Made me laugh too;)

Villa were atrocious and the score could easily have been 12+ if it wasn't for their keeper who had a good game I thought, he certainly made some great saves.
That'll certainly give everyone a lift, just what we needed :)

Indeed it was quite ridiculous how many little digs and fouls they got away with.

On another note, reading around the web it seems that on MOTD they seemed to blame De Gea for the goal? If so, that's laughable :o.

It was completely the defences fault, especially Evra. Still, the media will keep their bandwagon of 'De Gea is ****' going for as long as they can I suppose.

Presumably, amidst all the other hilarious antics going on by the Chelsea fans, they also let the Police know?

Whoever this guy is on MOTD2 he's quality far far better than that plonker Colin

There's only Barnes that isn't better!

He said it wasn't intentional, so even though it could've killed him we have to assume it wasn't intentional.

Like every other team, in the league? :o

Last year we were guilty of playing too fairly and got mugged by the physical teams. It stands to reason we've changed and tried to play more "intelligently".

Why can't anyone admit we played well, instead of looking for excuses?

I find it amusing what a big deal is being made of it. Williams kicks a ball off him, who cares? VP gets a tad irritated and throws his toys, who cares?

I hate what 24 hour news reporting has done to football. No one ever talks about matches (apart from super Nev on MNF) they just whine about none issues all week.

Sir Fat old drunken Scottish **** has done a grand job of deflecting attention away from the real issue on Sunday though, that ManU were garbage.

It's only because Ferguson sensationalised it as attempted murder that it's even getting any mention, it's happened thousands of times before if it was anywhere near that dangerous hundreds of defenders would have been killed on the field by now and RvP wouldn't have been in any fit state to jump up and try to fight with him. The only way I'd agree with Fergie on this is if Williams had actually kicked him in the back of the head.

I'm just looking forward to the Boxing Day pre-match where Fergie and the team will be wearing white t-shirts with a picture of van Persie's corpse on the front.

Williams was pretty cowardly about the whole incident, he behaved like a *****, then ****ed his pants when RVP went for him.
Fergies comments where a joke mind you, he needs to sort himself and the team out.
