Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 25th August 2014]

30mil on a truly world class Sanchez, subbed off at half time in third game after 2 previous useless games.

To be fair, it's still on Wenger, shouldn't have taken him off, largely because he bought him, he has to persevere till he makes Sanchez work with the wage he's on, we don't have any other choice.

Ramsey has been rubbish, Ozil has been rubbish and clearly not match fit, AOC is fit but entirely useless and by far the most wasteful player. Sanchez got zero delivery, again, when that happens Wenger make changes in the guys providing the balls rather than the guy who got little to non of it. No Sanchez wasn't great the few times he had it but as I said, we've got no choice.

We need to play him wide left because Walcott is cack on the left and so I see it as ridiculous getting Sanchez used to the right just to shift him left when Walcott is finally fit. Then we also need to play him till we get him playing well because due to cost/wages, we have really absolutely no choice. He can also be great when we learn to use him.

Wenger never buys the right players, ever, regardless. Ozil wasn't needed, Santi was really good in that same role and Ramsey/Wilshere for the future, maybe even AOC if he ever learns to control himself at all. Sanchez is a wide striker who plays the same way Pod, Walcott do, not different to them, same player over and over again. Di Maria for instance is a very different type of wide player to Pod/Sanchez/Walcott, he can take the ball from the half way line, beat players, great crosser. We needed that variety not another player of the exact same type.

Rahter than replace Giroud when we clearly needed him to, he buys a carbon copy to Walcott, he might be marginally better but he wasn't what we needed at all. Debuchy is the first good buy that we really needed in god knows how long, Chambers does look good for the future. We desperately needed a top striker a proper left back above everything else, the two things we haven't got.

Mourinho saw what his team needed, top striker, done, top DM, done, Lampard replacement, done.

If you get what the team needs, by all means if you think you can improve in any position do so, but make the required changes first and foremost, everything else is a bonus.

Now that Giroud chance, Giroud scores 1 in 100 of them, he's just too poor, which is why we need a replacement. But Wilshere there made the run that Ramsey, Ozil, no one else is making. Had Giroud passed back he'd be in a fantastic position to score or cut it back for Giroud or someone far post. No one else but Wilshere is even attempting to run in after a pass, they are all so so static on the edge of the box.

lol Mertesacker. Seems the German's will need a few games yet.

It's really very odd that against Everton of all teams he decided to start them and keep them on. Most other managers would bring them on in the second half of a game first, and starting two players in a big game away at Everton is just stupid. Should have given them a half in the CL and another half game next week, maybe a bit more.

Yeah, agreed. Bad idea.

Seriously though. We need a new LB!
