Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 25th August 2014]

Chambers is having an absolute shocker so far. Why was he diving in on the halfway line?

I thought that was his first real mistake tbh. It was bad, but Arsenal have to expect mistakes like that when playing a 19 year old at Cb. No way Mertesacker should be getting done like he did though.

Sanchez isn't an up top striker, nor is he a deeper wide player. We paid 30mil for a player Wenger apparently never watched and had no idea how to get the best out of him. Walcott is what Sanchez is, crap at getting it from the half way line to the box, not a good or accurate throughball and not a line leading striker, but if you can play him in behind the defence or at the edge of the box, that is how he works. In 3 games we haven't played to his strengths even once.

Ramsey has been dire outside of the charity shield in which City didn't even care, constantly giving it away with poor side passes. He drops deep to pick it up but he doesn't do anything with it, he just passes it on with first touch, but its CB to Ramsey and he goes straight back to the CB, does it constantly.

Second goal, great, completely owned us there, a couple players jumping in very stupidly.

Oooo, marginally offside, still poor in every single way in this game.

Chamberlain, same as always loads of energy, loads of enthusiasm... literally zero control. Blasts it wide, anywhere, same as almost every game, his final cross or shot is usually awful. It doesn't matter how much energy you have nor how hard you work if the most important bit is crap every time.

Arsenal have been crap for three games. You can't have so many players who want to be on the end of a chance, Wilshere is really the only one who when he passes is looking for the return pass. Ozil to Ramsey to Monreal to Ozil to Ramsey, and none of them have moved more than a yard. Finally goes to Wilshere and he bursts into the box and looks for the one two, didn't come off but we've got one player who tries to move and inject pass in Wilshere, and another player who is all pace but no quality in AOC.

Ozil/Ramsey are way way to static, they keep getting to the edge of the box and stopping then passing sideways.

Sanchez, he's just been terrible in every game so far, till we play to his strengths he'll be terrible.

Sanchez should also be on a yellow for that blatant shoulder where was it Mccarthy ended up landing hard on his back. He's run into several other players as well and I think had a little kick out at one.

The only notable thing he's done was win the ball back at right back once after he gave it away.

The lack of a top notch defensive midfielder is so painfully obvious, that is a gap that has to be filled and filled urgently. Monreal is just a complete shower... We need to buy a left back, Gibbs isn't great and is made out of glass, Monreal is not a viable option in his sted.

If we could actually get the ball I imagine we might be able to build towards something but I think we're in for 45 minutes of Everton popping the ball around the back four.

Also Ozil, Wilshire and Ramsey, just no, stop doing it, it does not work. Get one of them off, lets stick somebody on each wing with a bit of pace.

We have been absolutely awful for 2 and a half games now.

Germans are all rusty, we don't have a striker, the two new guys in defence are... new, Ramsey hasn't scored yet, Sanchez hasn't touched the ball in their box. First goal was our fault, 2nd shouldn't have counted... don't think we'll come back but we need to have a shuffle for the 2nd half and salvage something.

Got caught out to give Mirrallas a great chance at 1-0 and gave away a free-kick right on the edge of the box with a crazy tackle.

Maybe Mertesacker should have done better but there was little to no danger until after Chambers flew into that challenge. He just needed to stay on his feet and hold him off until Arsenal regrouped. As soon as he makes that tackle Everton were 2 on 1 and it should have been an easier goal than it was but Lukaku made hard work of it.

Giroud for Sanchez? Baines is already on a booking Sanchez should be out on the right going at him.

Meh, I give up.
