Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24 - 28th November 2012]

I thought the Chelsea fans embarrassed themselves today, childishly hounding your new manager isn't going to help him.

Looked like his left foot would have been offside.

Oh well we had other chances to win it too.

Not sure if you're watching - Sky just put up a better angle of the incident (that they didn't show during the game), it was close but Enrique was onside.

Does anybody know if the benefit of doubt going to the attacking side stuff is legit or just a myth. It seems like most of the tight offside calls go with the defending side.

A linesman can't possibly call anything close accurately, by the time he has seen the ball kicked the player has already moved and peripheral vision simply isn't good enough.

Using the sound of the ball being kicked would also be pretty bad so I'm not sure really why we still have them and it isn't all done by replays.

And it is a myth, never happens bar a few teams

I watched the two games today, the first game was a lot better than the Chelsea one.

Enrique doesn't seem too bad in an attacking midfield role but he's so one footed as is Sterling yet they kept cutting inside? Switch wings, cut in on your favoured foot, it's not like they were peppering crosses into Suarez.

Its a bit of both, its not in the laws, its one of those things they say they are going to do at the start of the season (this was 3 or 4 ago at least) like yellows for shirt pulling and advancing a free kick forward ten yards.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head where should always give the advantage to the attacking side as its in the laws, is if they don't know who the ball touched last before it goes out of play.
If the refs not seen it or can't tell, its an attacking throw, there's no decision to make that's the law.

Hazard started the season well for a brand new /young player - but it has turned a little more hit or miss lately.

Whether its the grind of a more physical league or just the step up in quality but either way, he will probably come good (consistantly) at some point

I think he will need a consistent management team around him that isn't forever changing or a move away from Chelsea to really develop his undoubted potential and talent

The only reason why people think he started well was because he won what 3 or 4 penalties in the first 2 or 3 games.... the actual reality of that situation is that was more down to inexplicable defending rather than anything special Hazard did. Compare that to what Oscar has done.....

Indeed they did, it was cringeworthy. They were worshipping a manager RDM that almost has them out of the CL and losing games in the EPL. Utterly boggling from Chelsea fans but then fans all round are a fickle lot in all honesty.

Even the Arsenal fans rounded on Wenger yesterday at Villa park, chanting you dont know what your doing when he made a 86th min sub :/

Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaa :D:D:D 2-0 :D

I'm just at the stage of finding it hilarious now, Pardew is the beginning and end of the problem with his arrogance that he can make 442 work. I hope they ******* murder us :)

It should have been at least 6... :p (2 clear pens, Punch shot straight at Krul from a yard with a lot of goal to hit and Rodriguez had a perfectly legit goal given offside).

Feel sorry of Newcastle, 10 injuries isn't nice and being stuck with Pardew would be horrific. Today bought back all the bad memories of him, all the 4-4-2 is how the beautiful game is to be played with no "what if this doesn't work plan".

Sounds mean but it was exactly the same kick and rush game plan QPR used on us, except we have been shouted at extra hard over the last few weeks to cut out the mistakes and are starting to keep clean sheets...

Best of all beat Norwich and Spurs do what they should do (and beat Liverpool) and next saturday becomes the funniest away day of the year. Liverpool away where a win will take us above them!

Eden is more than welcome at arsenal, no managerial issues and he wouldn't even need to move house :)

Nope just a manager that hasnt a clue this season on how to beat struggling teams :/

Meh i think Hazard is overhyped in all honesty, sure he had a good start to the season...bit like Gervinho at Arsenal in his first season:p. Still hes young and i expect him to become a lot better once hes used to the EPL style of play.

I can't remember Hazard doing anything other then a couple of runs into space behind the the defense (something anyone with pace can do), and beating his man on a few occasions (very good, but it hasn't happened very often).
