Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th August 2012]

Is Vidic still the savour for this season? :D

On the plus side. De Gea is showing that he is an awesome keeper :)

Didn't watch the game but the guy watching the game on SS Saturday said he made a lot of mistakes and got lucky? I only caught the end of it

If Spurs don't win this game I'm going to eat my hat.
Are you feeling hungry yet :p

Why didn't Steve Clarke start Lukaku? This was Lukaku's opportunity to stick it to AVB

Only mistake he made was the Vidic o.g. I think it may be the case of he's made a mistake so anything else he does is lucky or average. The commentators on Fox Soccer tried to criticise every little thing he did.

Lukaku absolutely destroyed our back 4. Vertonghen was the only one who could actually stop him from doing something. What a game changer.

Extremely frustrated Spurs didn't win that match, especially from the first half domination. Same old Spurs though, different manager and no changes.

Yep, massive frustration, however it is hilarious reading on facebook all the Spurs fans blaming JJ :p

Roll on the next game, I hope.

1-0 defeat to Everton away, narrow 1 goal win at home to Fulham, Rooney in poor form and now out for 4 weeks, Nani in poor form, no defenders fit, not a great start to this season is it :(

Welbeck the big girls blouse! :D :D

To be fair, its always the player who gets to look right onto it that reacts the worst, ROoney and is that RVP helping him stand can't actually see into the cut from their angle, lucky for them.

At first I thought it was like a small gash that was bleeding a bit then when he lay down you realise the whole thing is a gash and its ruddy wide, then the first trainer guy pushes it together, ouch. With that you've just got to hope nothing really crucial got cut and its really just a very nasty looking skin wound, but to stop that reopening he'd be out for a while anyway.

Some interesting games, AVB screwing with the team, starting a relatively weak and uncreative team for no apparent reason when they needed a game at home to kickstart their season against not a great team.

Lukaka has looked a freaking beast in his appearances for both games, did he not have much preseason and has no fitness yet or manager doesn't know him enough to trust him for a full game. Either way he looks like Chelsea will regret loaning him out this season from early signs.

QPR, people making lots of comments(was looking elsewhere during the game) about them, hughes, spending money and the like but you don't get instant success from buying players. The question for QPR is how well the team can gel in the next few months. They've got some solid defenders coming in and some who just joined, will be interesting to see how they can improve.

Villa, Lambert is a massive improvement but they've got a weaker team than last year, I can see Villa needing a good few new players and judging by their money, for almost free, to do anything at all this year.

Swansea, West Ham made it easy but there was some real quality about Swansea last year, and the year before and they look like they've improved again this season.
