Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 27th August 2018]

As far as I know there's nothing specific in the rules regarding winning the ball at all but as a general rule yes, you need to actually dispossess the opponent if you also end up takingh im out.

Never a pen in the Newcastle game, but equally Yedlin fouled for our equaliser, terrible refereeing all round.

Don't get the whole "anti football" talk though. Their goalkeeper alone is worth almost double what it took to assemble our entire squad, that tells the whole story. If we had went out and tried to play attacking football and got humped 5-0 we would be a laughing stock, as it was we were five minutes away from a credible draw. Boring/negative football is all you can expect with a largely average squad when the owner is more profit focused than anything else and will not spend money.

Another **** season in store though I've largely stopped giving a hoot and just enjoy watching Liverpool and Man City, nice to see two good and attacking teams going for the title.

Seems a bit ******** that is a penalty but if someone empties the attacker after he has taken the shot its nothing. (Except a yellow on every other part of the pitch)

Rules are pretty retarded

Lots of changes. Not sure what to expect.

Will be standard tedious anti football hoping to nick a goal with a set piece/single moment of quality whilst praying Spurs dont give them a shoeing.

I’m liking the look of the lineup barring Jones. I hope he doesn’t bring rashford on, just a younger, less competent Valencia and that’s saying something.

At what point is a high boot a straight red? Moura goes in studs up at head height for a 50/50. Not sure it was malicious but it was bloody stupid and quite likely to injure your opponent.

Can't think of a single player being sent off for it since Mane last season.

Valencia has got to be one of the most played vs least talented players we have have ever had at United.
