EDIT: I just did a quick check on Torres. This dude scored 20 goals in 110 appearances, for Chelsea. How on Earth did this guy command a £50M price tag? This is a serious question.

My good god, you do realise he had a career before he joined Chelsea?

He scored 65 in 105 for Liverpool. Sometimes it doesn't work out for players in their peak, look at Shevchenko, Veron, Kaka, Robinho, Seth Johnson etc

As a comparison, Ruud Van Nistlerooy: 95 goals in 150 apps, for Man Utd.

Because for the majority of the two years prior to that he was the best striker on the planet.
