Berahino is too good for West Brom but not good enough for one of the clubs that would likely be able to afford him. Tough situation to be in, continue playing for a bottom half team or sit on the bench for one of the big boys.
5-10 years ago he'd be perfect for a proper top side who rotated sensibly. Like today had he been at Arsenal he would have played, and been a sub in many of the big games. I thought he looked really promising last year, kind of hoped we'd buy someone like him, I'd have bought him ahead of Welbeck without question. But Wenger is a moron, Campbell should have appeared more already and be starting games like today's but he's barely had a look in. Likewise Podolski should be starting games like today. Managers aren't rotating that well anymore, then you get this situation where some player gets injured being played too much but the back up comes in and looks crap because he's not started a game in 6 months.
Then you have your Chelsea/City types who just buy star quality even in backup/rotation positions, they don't really need to bother having a guy with good potential, they'll just buy them a few years later if they prove to be good enough.
I wouldn't be surprised if Everton, Spurs, Southampton, those types of teams when after him next summer. Spurs might be desperate enough for goals to try and get him in Jan and ship out Soldado if they can't get him firing again by then.
