Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 29th November 2017]

Very long ballish at the moment in this Everton West Ham game, players at the back scared to make mistakes it seems

lol, this Everton vs West Ham game, it was going to be a question of who is the most incompetent. Joe Hart concedes penalty, Rooney makes his relatively easy to save but Hart manages to let the ball back towards Rooney who heads it in.

1-0 Everton. Hart got fingertips to the ball but I think it is a pen, he takes Calvin out

The erm..channel im watching were saying how it was such a good save but he couldnt do anything about the followup. Amazing what people get paid for nowadays.

You really think Hart can palm that ball where he wants?

Savage just doesn't know the rules, if Hart's touch takes it away such that Lewin can't just get it and slot it in, no pen, but his touch is incidental. Basically after that touch the player can still score until he's taken down by the follow through from Hart. If his touch prevents there being a goal scoring chance for the player, it's not a pen if he then takes him down via follow through on his tackle, if his touch doesn't, it's a pen.

Does he have control of his hands and the ability to move the ball away, then yes he does. I wasn't actually criticising him for that, I was literally just stating what he did. The fact is keepers get constantly criticised for not pushing the ball away from goal from a normal shot, but if it's a penalty it's different because.... why? The fact is he dived to the ball, he could have pushed it away and didn't. I don't think it was a favourable situation to push it away from goal but he still didn't. I was criticising him for conceding the penalty, not for allowing the rebound.

You can tell he tried to push it but just didnt connect properly. Poor.

Yeah, well he definitely didn’t have a chance, comes at him so quick, he did well just to get down to it really
