Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 29th April 2015]

Harsh, should Hart have been sent off? Wasn't paying a load of attention but Benteke was onside and not really sure if Hart took Benteke down.

If Benteke actually spent 95% of the game onside instead of maybe 20% of the game, the linesman might not have just assumed he was offside.

Difference being everyone stopped playing and Balotelli wouldn't have had anywhere near the same opportunity. Here play continued. Massive difference.

Well they didn't, Given tried to save it, or maybe he dived onto his arse for a laugh.

Defenders did but Balo was still getting that shot away.

Also City should've had a penalty anyway so...

Massively outplaying you is what got us to the cup final.

I had no issue with you going through regardless of that decision so you have no need to tell me

But moot complaining is a bit funny after benefiting massively from the decision last weekend, especially when City were denied a clear penalty

You were trying to make out that Balotelli 'scoring" would have made a difference. Everyone had stopped play before he had his shot but yes he was onside, can't argue that as it was clear as day. That doesn't however mean he would certainly have scored. That also would have made it 2-2, nobody will ever know the outcome if it had indeed gone 2-2, we may have won on pens and still gone through!

Really? Just watched it again and doesn't really look like Shay Given has stopped.

It was a massively beneficial decision and probably one you deserved after some of the **** villa have served up recently but can't really see how you can be so angry at that today after firstly City being denied a clear penalty and just coming off a game you had a very favourable decision late.

EDIT: Yeah of course, you may well have but you might not have scored the penalty either today and City might've gone back up the other end and scored too, its all just ifs. Like I said I have no problem with us going out, I just find it a bit strange someone would be quite so angry after having just benefited from it massively the week before + the fact City should've also had a penalty which would've likely buried the game anyway

Can you quote me on where I have complained about the decision today? :)

I did also noticed that every time in the semi when the whistle went, Given still played on as if the game was still active. He did it multiple times throughout the game, guess the professional thing is to keep going *just* in case.
