Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th April - 1st May 2019]

Oh definitely with that new stadium, don't want to be missing out on the Champions League. As much as I like Son, Kane is still quality they can not really afford to do without in games like these.
The issue today was that of squad depth .

It is very clear that players are playing out of position; there is a lack of chemistry and game plan at the moment.

We don't counterattack (we pass the ball sideways)
We don't make runs off the ball
We don't really try and go past players .

Our play focuses on retention but without any idea of how to penetrate. I think that stems from there being little synergy between players playing out of position .

Rose can go past a man but doesn't know where to pass other than sideways. Moura doesn't know how to play the CF role and Ali doesn't now where/when to pass the ball to him .

I think our best chance comes from 433 with son, Ali and Eriksen up front. We don't really have 3 midfielders though- Wanyama, dier and maybe Skipp could be the answer.

I don't think they spent THAT much this season (may be wrong though) - they spent a lot in their promotion season
Nope, the other way around. They spent approx £20m net in the two seasons prior to promotion, which is a lot for the Championship, but then spent around £80m net last summer and already committed £30m odd on signing Jimenez on a permanent deal in the summer.
What a class goal from Newcastle
Could do with Perez's injury keeping him out of next week. He's been excellent lately for Newcaslte.

Wolves splashed out on 13 new players, spending £62.6million. Signings: Adama Traore (Middlesbrough, £18m), Diogo Jota (Atletico Madrid, £12.6m), Benik Afobe (Bournemouth, £10m), Willy Boly (Porto, £10m), Joao Moutinho (Monaco, £5m), Leo Bonatini (Al-Hilal, £5m), Ruben Vinagre (AS Monaco, £2m), Raul Jimenez (Benfica, loan), Rui Patricio (Sporting CP, free), Paulo Alves (Liverpool, free), Jonny Castro Otto (Atletico Madrid, loan), Leander Dendoncker (Anderlecht, loan), John Kitolano (Odds BKK, undisclosed).

Spent 80m on making Otto, Jimenez and Patricio permanent signings. Mendes does their dealings

Wow they have spent more than arsenal. Makes the loss from them feel not bad lol

I thought it was a bit harsh too, didn't look that bad on a replay, but until VAR comes in next season, the ref doesn't have that option.
