Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 28th August 2011]

What's the general feel about the place at Forest? How's Mcclown getting on?

My sisters boyfriend is a season ticket holder but I've not really had much chance to speak to him about how it's going so far.

Im still one of the billy fans, don't realy have an opinion about mcclaren as such.

Problem with forest is pretty much the same we had under davies, no left back, we're still playing our best creative winger out of position (cohen), switching one of the best full backs in the league (gunter) to the other flank. It completely screws over our best cutting thrusts.

We need a bright flick up front, finley looks the business, if he proves some consistancy, we've swaped out a fading earnshaw for something better, miller will do something... be intresting to see what maca does with blackstock when he comes back.... billy never got the best out of him.

The only fear i have for forest is pretty much the way we shiped those goals yesterday, chambers and morgan are far from the greatest, davies had them playing waaaay above players they are..

We have nobody else, and mclarens gameplan will never be as solid as davies, thats the big loss.

You think Mclaren is the man to sort things out?

Is there money available to help "fix" the squad / side so to speak?

Yes, no and maybe:)

Honestly, there's no way forest are gona p___ money up the wall, there's a reason we have a transfer panel.. that being said the players we've gone in for in the last couple of seasons have been unrealistic and for the most part not the positions we've needed to fill anyway. The effect that has is devestating on the team and manager, when all the noise from it means constant sabre rattling from the manager, expectations from the fans and from what we know is desire to be at the top of the pile from the chairman... aka bye bye billy davies.

In other words they all have no chance of getting what they want.

Because of the mess, it's likely mclaren will suffer, with one or more factors being no fault of his own. With davies that didn't matter so much, as said his gameplan was allways something to respect, win or lose.

I predict the guy will walk away, but like a teflon non stick, he won't be the sole man to blame, and he'll be saying it.

Anyhoo, enough forest, bankholiday over:)

i would like to include dawson in the category of players that spurs need to get rid off, that's along with everyone else who played on sunday apart from bale and vdv and get shut off the manager aswell.

Might as well do a bit of a swap with the Gunners. :D

but atleast arsenal (though not right now) have had belief. spurs never have belief, only vdv seems to have passion. dawson is a wet lettuce.

Didnt a certain poster not a million miles away from here point out that this was likely to happen this season?

"Not a chance" I think the reply was.

:o

Well, Sheffield Wednesday are playing Bradford in the Johnston's Paint Trophy tonight; Live on Sky Sports One.

Nicky Weaver (Wednesday Goal Keper) subbed after a minute and a half; You have to start the JPT with at least 6 recognised first team players so Weaver was one of them and was subbed straight off :o

Yup. Stupid rule.

What happened to the manager selecting the team? He's been forced to pick certain players within this set of rules.

What makes it more ridiculous is the PL just ratified the rule to say managers can field whatever side they like from their 25 man squad.... like it should be. Shame it hasn't filtered down to all competitions.
