Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th September - 2nd October 2019]

Nope, the ref would have had to blow his whistle. I'm sure there was some fuss about this in a Cup game between Spurs and Chelsea last season?
What do you mean nope :o yes play to the whistle and all that jazz but you could see the flag went up and they half stopped. Hardly seems fair from a neutrals perspective.

Think there is some work to be done in those scenarios.

Would you be saying the same thing if Auba had seen the flag and missed?

Friend is one of the worst refs, mainly down to the highly inconsistent nature of his deeming of what is and isn't a booking.

Nope, it doesn't effect play because players are meant to play to the whistle. I'm sure you scored a goal vs Chelsea in the League Cup last season where the lino flagged and Chelsea's players clearly paused for a moment. The ref let the attack play out then checked VAR and the goal stood.

This is the issue with VAR. Either linos let everything go and you check VAR if a goal is scored, which will also mean you end up with teams winning corners/free-kicks from those attacks when they would have normally been flagged offside or the lino flags but the ref doesn't actually whistle and everybody gets confused as ****.

Or how about applying common sense and when the ball is in the back of net or elsewhere then flag? The player usually puts it in the back of net regardless.

Certainly needs works, don’t get me wrong I’m happy it’s 1 all from Spurs fans perspective.
