Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th September - 2nd October 2019]

Well that was dog****

Positives... Tuanzebe barring the goal mistake. also, if you could transfer McTominay’s enthusiasm into a footballer with proper skill, then that would be great.

I've seen much worse games but this never felt like a game between two top clubs, full of mistakes/poor finishing and just plain mediocrity.

Agreed, I’m only 31 but can’t remember them ever looking this bad. Laughable performance and they deserve their league position. What happens when you appointment a manager with your heart over your head, truly useless.
Totally agree Woodward has a lot to answer for turned us into a joke

Wow - two terrible teams vying to make each other look good. Very hard to see how anyone emerges with much credit. Arsenal lacked almost as much creativity as United. Difficult to see where these clubs go from here. For United we have a manager who seemingly had a strategy to build a side around a player who doesn't want to play for us. I'm a bit lost for words to be honest so I'll just leave it as.......that was pure pants.

I guess the only thing both sides can take from this is that neither are full strength.

Shocking all round, Emery won't be here long term. Agree with Carragher, Chelsea and Spurs must be laughing watching this. Even Leicester should be finishing above both these teams.

Spurs are equally bad. Leicester must be rubbing their hands at the moment.

Mwahaha that Mourinho advert. Love PaddyPower sometimes :)

Almost made him seem likeable, great advert

Nah as much as I hate to say it Spurs are much better than both these teams, they're just going through a rough patch. The only thing these teams have on Spurs is depth, their starting XI is way ahead.

Absolutely hilarious last night. Two teams who have fallen so far from the teams that the rivalry was built on that it may as well have been a League 1 clash.

Utterly diabolical, we don't have a single player who would get in any of the big 6 (Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs Chelsea and Leicester). We'll finish bottom half of the table this year, and I'm willing to put a lot of money on that, we're awful. We've got the worst manager since Fergie. Rashford has all the finishing ability of a potato salad, how he managed to blag 300k a week, I'll never know...oh wait, yes I do, because he's young and English, which is the holy grail. He hasn't improved since LvG first bought him in, if anything he was better then.

Young, is there anything more soul destroying and uninspiring than seeing Young on the ball when you have seconds left and need a good delivery, you may as well be smashing it in the box with a stick of dynamite, it would do the same job. He really is a washed up old man, who again, managed to blag a years extension for no other reason than we have no one better, which is tragic

McTominay, christ...it really is pathetic that the highlight was from someone so sub-par the standard required, he's an awful player. Great attitude, aye. Wants to try and puts his heart in to it, aye. But he's rubbish, let's not beat around the bush. It was a great strike sure, but it probably would have been saved had it not been for the deflection.

I just can't fathom how Ole thinks he can turn this around, other than him not wanting to give up the job for as long as possible so he doesn't have to go back to his level of managing part time Norwegian players

That was one of the most depressing games I've ever seen, even worse than some Burnley games. There is no connect between attack and defence with that midfield 3, we're completely toothless and devoid of creativity. Thank god Auba can finish as we'd be in big trouble without him. Laca coming back will help as he drops deep to link up quite a lot. I'm not really sure what Emery is trying to achieve with this team, he came with a counter attacking reputation but we look like we don't have a game plan at all.

Pepe is absolutely shocking, you'd expect by now to have seen a glimpse of something decent. He can't dribble, pass or shoot. 72 ****ing million!!! Saka looked by far the better player of the 2. Cellabos looks like Ozil mk2 and he loves a nice cross-field ball to the opposition, at least it wasn't in our box this time. Hopefully when we have a fit defensive unit we'll be a bit more solid at least
