Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th - 31st August 2015]

Shambolic performance from start to finish. Playing a narrow in midfield and a CB playing LB away to Arsenal when you want to be solid and play on the break is fine to do it at home against West Ham just played into their hands. Their first goal was scrappy and a bit fortunate but we never looked like getting back into the game - the centre of the pitch was just swamped and the only width we had was Clyne trying to get forward from RB. The 2nd goal was a joke and Rodgers pride is going to get him the sack if he keeps picking Lovren.

Coutinho's 2nd yellow was harsh imo, he's not slid into their player, he's slid across the front and their player's stepped into him but despite that he was ****ing stupid to make that challenge when he's on a booking, for dissent of all things. Noble's red was never a straight red but it should have been a 2nd yellow anyway.

Rodgers won't change a thing because that'll be admitting he was wrong which he seems to be incapable of doing.

Only one way out of this mess and it's up to FSG.

Edit: Knives are out on RAWK now. Rodgers has usually been defended but a lot of questions being asked. The boos today don't happen at Anfield very often either.

Typical Rodgers team performance, dominate the ball but do absolutely nothing with it. So reminiscent of his 1st season and shades of last season. Still baffles me why people think Rodgers wants to play fast paced, sexy attacking football ala the Suarez season. Today is what we can expect as long as he remains.

Bonus points for all the articles this morning about how good we are defensively as we've been working on it so much. Much chuckles.

We showed real character out there today after he (Philip Couthino) was sent off, we are a young team and we'll head into the international break with things to think about and we'll go into the next game with a real purpose.

I knew West ham had a bunch of reds but that is really the 6th red? I mean it wasn't a red but how can a team even be at that point already. They are god damned hilarious.

It includes their Europa League qualifiers which started early July, but considering they qualified for Europe due to their disciplinary record last season it is a ridiculous number of red cards.

I knew it included the europa games but still 6th felt insane, I thought it was 2 in europa 2 in league, so, 3 in europa? I can only remember Adrian and Jenkinson's, both pretty dumb.

I would be very surprised if they didn't overturn that red though, 3 game ban for straight red for violent conduct as it's supposedly a two footed lunge... what the ref saw I have no idea, was actually a great tackle, one footed, on the ground before the ball or player got there, poked the ball away from a player who could have shot first time... red, lol.

EDIT:- Was the Palace vs Arsenal game the one where Coquelin deserved a red or was that LIverpool. Either way Palace won 3 out of 4, beat Chelsea away from home, only lost to Arsenal via an own goal at a time in the game where Coquelin should have been sent off, had Arsenal been down to 10 for at least one half they may be joint top.

Currently 2nd and can only drop to 3rd if Utd win tomorrow.

Also West Ham second top scorers in the league with 9 goals, 1 behind City, and Chelsea have conceded 9.... 1 behind Sunderland.
