Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 1st May 2017]

Im kinda looking forward to it, if we dont make the CL then all the players who dont want to be there, however big, can leave. Id rather see Iwobi give 110% than see Ozil 17 miles behind a counter attack.

Before the goals went in i would say that although Spurs were edging it there wasn't much in it at all. The penalty knocked the stuffing out of us. Dive in my opinion, there was no way he should be going down from that then does the kick the defender and fall over technique. Wenger's subs were a joke, i genuinely think he has no idea what to do. Still have faint hopes of top 4 just need to beat United next week. Some great saves from Cech in the second half.

I was joking ;)

Not as much as Kane's, no but near enough but look where Dida ends up. He'd have reached the ball even if it was hitting the post. Getting the ball right in the corner isn't enough these days.

:P :P

I'm not sure he really did scuff it though man, that looks pretty well taken.

Not really, as Kane said, we're more concerned with Chelsea and the title race. Arsenal were just another easy 3 points for us today.
But unlike last season, we won't be finishing ahead of you :p. Normally it wouldn't be an easy 3 points but this season, it seems like any team we play we give them a chance to get 3 points off of us.

Unless Chelsea have a catastrophic meltdown in the next few games, I can't see u lot winning the title.

Ah well, we still get an FA Cup final this season Yas, such a disastrous season :P :P Joking aside, would you take 2nd and no FA CUP or FA CUP and no CL, we did 2nd and no FA Cup last season and it still seemed like a failure.

Either option is a failure for me:p. But right now, the position we are in...I'd take the FA cup because at least it's a trophy if anything. But against Chelsea?? Can't see us winning it unless a miracle happens lol.

What I really want is for us to win the pl title and for once properly compete in the Cl. None of those look like happening anytime soon with Wenger and the current board in charge at the moment.

I'll be honest, last season broke me. The fact that we let Leicester win the title when it was our best chance by far to win the PL title. Main reason why this season I really couldn't give a flying fig about this season because it's just the same ole **** but different season.

Haha, the commentary just said, "can Tottenham become a super club" . Made me chuckle :)

Did the opposite for me, quite a few comments actually another was about how arsenal have the structure and financial power, which clearly doesn't mean crap if you don't perform :p

If anything we're seeing a shift in power where it's not all about the money(maybe not wages), which can only be a good thing.

They were 100% bottling it at the point of the game. 2 open goals missed. No need to be a crystal ball meff.

Spurs are class when they have no real shot at winning anything. If Chelsea slip up they'll collapse. Hope not, mind.

'bottling it' is such an overused and cliched comment. Dele's was difficult because of the high boot, Eriksen's shot could have gone anywhere. It could have been 4 or 5 if Cech wasn't on his game today.

'Bottling it' would be Chelsea losing out on the title, not because a player doesn't score every shot.

I went to look up their run ins and checked Spurs first, saw West Ham, Utd, Leicester and Hull and thought they have enough to win all of them, thinking if Chelsea have to play any top teams still that potentially only 4 point gap isn't that big. So I go to check Chelsea's games... lol, no chance. Boro, West brom and Sunderland left to play. If they can't get 6 points out of that three games I'll be absolutely shocked, I'll be pretty surprised if they don't get all 9 as well.

Arsenal today, just awful, everything that is a problem with the team and the type of players we have was shown today. Ozil is a little *****, I've never seen a supposedly top player play so poorly so consistently in the big games yet be rated so highly. If we give him a new higher wage contract I think I'm going to buy a Chelsea shirt with Fabregas's name on it or something in protest. He's not a top player, he's like imho the likes of VDV, Mata, that type. They are for me guys who don't really excel in any particular position. THey aren't fast enough or good enough dribblers to be wingers, they aren't prolific enough to be strikers, they aren't strong enough for midfield. They look great in certain games but meh in a lot of big games. Ozil is far too weak defensively to be a deeper midfield player(not defensive just normal midfielder) he's not a winger, but he's also too much of a vagina to play in a far forward attacking role under constant pressure, he folds under that kind of pressure completely.

He should be a guy on 60-80k a week max who you use for rotation in the none major games. For 150+k a week you're looking for the guys who make the difference in the toughest games, not wimp out of them.

Half the team needs to be shown the door, Walcott and Ozil at the head of the queue, Ramsey close behind, Welbeck can **** off, Giroud can stay if he can accept a back up/rotation/situational role in which he is in no way first team because he is no where near good enough to start these kinds of games. Keeper, Cech has been great, but we need to get a long term replacement pretty damn soon because he won't be playing for much longer. Hell in his position, a dodgy injury and probably more risk than the average player continuing as a result of that injury... with Arsenal what is the point. Keep playing to be in such a pointless team that achieves nothing?

Nothing has changed in a decade. City were awful against us in the cup, 3-4-3 wasn't some magic trick, we beat a dire Boro and a City who look pretty damn bad at the moment... who coincidentally are so good they just cheated to draw with Boro, after being truly terrible against a wretched Utd on Thursday. The attitudes are the same, the mistakes are the same, the lack of leadership is the same, the same types of players being bought who are absolutely the wrong types for going after titles. We need a clean break from Wenger, zero involvement from him as some kind of director or anything else. We need a manager who will come in and do what Poch did for Spurs, clean house and get the team working again.

Considering Everton's recent home form that was an excellent result today

We've got Watford at home too so 4 games and we need 9 points to be certain as their GD is better than ours which is unlikely to change much, that's assuming Spurs win all theirs of course which is very probable.

Didn't watch the Spurs v Arsenal game but why did Gibbs start, I didn't think he has played much lately so not sure why he was a starter.

And Holding, I thought has been playing well so why drop him.
