Utd haven't been that bad as some would suggest. Whats the option, play Valencia too far up and Clichy and Tevez nail us on the right hand side ????

The question remains over Park, Hasn't got the legs for it and certainly doesn't have the strength to go toe to toe with Toure.

Take him off, drop Rooney deeper and put Wellbeck or Chicarito on.

This is the problem. Every match like this we set out to try and stop the other team rather than make the other team worry about stopping us. We're defeated before we've stepped out on the pitch. We let them control the possession and a goal is inevitable, then we're frantically fighting back, usually by Fergie throwing on every striker we have on the bench. It's tactically disastrous.

I can imagine those being sent on and the former being slated for just being generally average, and the latter being slated for living offside :o.

No desire to see Berbatov?

Berbatov has the same problem that Park has, not match fit.

If the result stays the same then this match more than any other underlies our need to get rid of players like Park and let some of the younger blood through our buy simply better players. Parks quality is his stamina, not his strength. You need bucket loads against City

Nice to see us concede from another set piece, we're getting worse and worse at defending them. If you can't defend set pieces then it's pointless sticking 9 behind the ball and playing for a draw.

It's an easy comment to make but that's why he is sat in his office at Carrington and we're sat behind our keyboards criticising.

Tactically I think he got it spot on but Park's impact was simply not good enough.

I wonder if Fergie ever watches our big games because we make the same mistakes in every single one. We've had so much space in the channels but instead of Young or Valencia we have ****ing Park and Giggs, and our go-to tactic is long balls to Rooney up against Kompany. Genius.

It's controversial, but there are times in the last season where I wonder sometimes if we do well in spite of Fergie.

Put Berbatov on and we'll win. Legend.

All teams have strange fans. Isn't that what you said the other day.

Loki is right, Dimi is not fit, you need someone fit, look how match fit Tevez is now from his break, tbh he would come and probably not play due to how Fergie has treated him

How can you possibly say that? We've just had a half where we haven't managed a shot on target, barely managed to string passes together for the last 30 mins. We've been hoofing it long to the ridiculously isolated Rooney while our 4 defensive midfielders are just outclassed completely by Silva and Nasri.

That's only tactically spot on if Fergie has money on City.

Is Ferdinand any stronger in the air than Smalling. Any difference would be pretty small and tbf, I wouldn't be surprised if Lescott (who Ferdinand was marking) has scored more from set-plays than Kompany has.

Ferdinand is bigger and has more experience than Smalling, he wouldn't have allowed Kompany to get away from him. Lescott has probably scored more, but I would personally say Kompany is more of a threat in the air due to his physical presence combined with being the skipper in a local derby to decide the title..

Simply put united are not good enough to beat city if they take the game to them. Fergi knows this and tried to play counter attack for the first half. Problem with this is the counter attacks are poor as not keeping the ball during them.

Despite their possession, how many clear cut chances other than the goal and Aguero ballooning over the bar did City have a gain ?

Nonsense, we have looked better than City when we have gone toe-to-toe this season, it's when we sit back that the problems begin.

It had been coming, they'd had several loose balls in the box that could have gone anywhere (2 for Aguero one from Zabaleta that I can think of) That is alarm bells ringing.

Also you've got the Fergie problem, stop thinking about what they're doing and think about what we're doing. It's irrelevant how many chances they need to score, they've done that and at no point have we looked like creating a half chance.

We keep talking about hitting them on the counter but with who? Giggs? Scholes? It's basically going to be just Nani and Rooney against the City back four and De Jong.
