Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th December 2014 - 1st January 2015]

And that was with two of our regular defence not playing, one of the replacements making his first PL start.

Really hoping Southampton can keep this up - no disrespect to WHU, but if Arsenal / the mob from down the East lancs road dont make it, would be really chuffed for Southampton to be there come may

His post match interview is laughable. He thinks we were in control until the equalizer and it would have been over had we got a 2nd. It was always coming they were all over us. 4 points from 21. I can understand some of the issues at the back but I have no idea what he's trying to achieve going forward with the positioning of our players and lack of width even when we have wingers. I had no idea why he signed Kone even before his injury, now he's just slower and all he had anyway was pace.

Joel literally looks like someone has put a CB in goal because everyone else is on holiday, but as long as everyone is happy and smiling in training that's the main thing right?

Amazing - well in Martinez.

“With the games coming so thick and fast we hadn’t worked on a set formation. It was a quick turn around. It surprised a few of the players."

What the actual ****.

So it's not just me that has no clue what he's trying to achieve. What a nice surprise at christmas, just lob a formation at the board and smile, say a few things about confidence, job done.

****

Rather impressive isn't it. Wonder if Garbutt has already decided he will leave in the summer and said that on purpose.

it was nothing more than a yellow. 50/50 ball and no real force ala leaving the floor with the intention of taking the player not the ball.

the rooney rugby tackle was just cynical but shows to me that he clearly saw kane as a threat. carrick is no threat :p

well then by that logic your defender that body checked rooney before the "rugby tackle" in the same move should have gotten a red too:D

You can't tell either way without a better angle. I've looked at that gif 10 times and I can't decide whether it's just a swinging leg and he's caught him with his instep or whether he's gone in straight legged and caught him with his studs. If it's the former its a yellow, the latter a red.

BT were terrible for replays yesterday.

Missed our game vs burnley as had family meals to attend but from what I have read we were poor, so not sure how we will do tonight or what to expect :/

2 wins and a draw in our last 3 games against Swansea sounds good on paper but we've conceded 6 goals in those 3 games and can no longer score. I think we'll have done very well if we pick up 3 points but I'm expecting a loss. Bony's going to have a field day against our defence.

Did you watch our last game? Apparently can got played at centre back? How did he do

Liverpool 11 for tonight: Mignolet, Manquillo, Sakho, Skrtel, Moreno, Can, Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho, Lallana and Sterling.

Hopefully it's a 4-3-3 with Can in midfield rather than the 3-4-3 because I'd be worried about the lack of attacking threat down our right if it's the latter.

Yea, came on at HT and played right of a 3 man defense. He done well.
