Completely shut Hull out of the game, great win, and played some great football.

Much much better performance. Team played with more pace, more pressing and more intent today. Lucas and Toure deserve to keep their places after great individual performances. Onwards and upwards

Gerrard also showed why he should be used sparingly when he came on. Great cross to set up the goal and looked far more energetic.

PHEW! well in Glen showing desire for the 1st time in 2 odd seasons, cracking save Migs at the end.

Decent 2nd half performance from us and unlucky only to win 1-0. Sterling and Coutinho started linking up really well and were unfortunate not to have created a few more clear chances than they did. If Lambert was a bit more mobile he'd be a really useful player - he leads the line well and his link-up play is first class but so many times today either Sterling, Coutinho or Henderson were looking to play him through but he just couldn't get there.

Good chance for Chelsea to extend their lead at the top of the table this weekend. Can't see Sunderland getting anything today.

I saw the final 10mins and it looked pretty scrappy and heated...

Pretty tepid game, not many clear cut chances, so little movement from Chelsea in the final third. Sunderland were well organised and sat very compact and deep and as often happens you end up with 2-3 attackers all running up to in line with the back four and just kind of stopped. No diagonal runs from one corner of the box across it. Left very little room for attempting through balls, crossing wasn't great coupled with the box being packed by Sunderland players and not enough support in the box for Costa.

Worst I've seen Chelsea play this season so far.
