Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th March - 3rd April 2019]

Glad it got disallowed.

Perhaps next time he won't be pulling at shirts and try actually playing football.

I can not believe Arsenal are letting him go.
You don't seriously think that they're letting him go? There was not a cat in hells chance of him staying at Arsenal, even if they offered him mental money. It was a PR disaster by Arsenal to leak that they were withdrawing their offer, they should have let him turn it down which is exactly what would have happened.

I’m disappointed he’s going but let’s be under no illusions, he’s not a world class player. He’s a top quality player but he can be replaced without busting transfer records.

Shame that last Lacazette **** didn’t go in. That would have been a belter.

Agreed, love how other fans think he’s the bees knees when in reality he isn’t. He’s good yes but not world class. Of course we will miss him and I hope he does well at Juve.

Anyhow looks like another 3 pts in the bag for us so pleased with that. Good to see laca score a goal too.

I had written this season off before it started. I'm very happy with how things are looking already under Emery and getting top 4 would be a massive achievement.

My main issue with Emery is I have no idea wtf he is saying.

Ramsey would not get in the city or liverpool side!

It's going to be an interesting run-in. Other than the City game, Spurs fixtures look fairly straight forward and you'd expect them to take 3rd but 4th, 5th and 6th is anyone's. Arsenal don't have any of the big sides left but do have 5 away games vs the type of side you'd expect them to slip up against, Chelsea have 2 big away games but then some fairly straight forward fixtures and then Utd have 2 big home games plus a couple of tricky away games vs Wolves and Everton. I'll guess it'll be Spurs, Utd, Arsenal and then Chelsea 6th.

Thing is, will the likes of Watford and Wolves be on the beach already? Plus, one of them just maybe saving themselves for an fa cup final.

You can’t make any assumptions about spurs either. They’re in bits. Probably the most dramatic collapse since Tommy Cooper died!

This was another match that made me feel lucky to have Ozil. The man ran the game. The way he floats about the final third, keeping attacks going, looking for opportunities and quite often delivering a killer ball is incredible.

Problem is because of his work rate and at times, questionable attitude, his football genius will never be fully appreciated.

I think that's a bit of wishful thinking at this stage. You might be lucky in that regards with Burnley if they're safe by the last day but with 3, 4 or 5 games to go I'm not sure Wolves, Watford or Leicester will be in their flip flops just yet.

As for Spurs, they go through these spells all the time. They beat Utd at the start of the season and they were the real deal, they then lost a couple of games and were also facing the prospect of going out of the group stages in the CL and they were in crisis only to turn things around and be talked about in the title race in January. Yes they've had some poor results but they've also played 3 very difficult games vs Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in a very busy period with a number of injury problems. With players back (or coming back) and their home form generally quite good, I can't see them having too many problems with the games they've got. The only hope from your point of view is how they deal with the games in and around the CL tie with City and other than playing City again, it's Huddersfield and Brighton at home - they couldn't wish for better fixtures imo.
