Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 5th March 2012]

It will be interesting to see who picks up Al-Habsi. Granted he conceded 2 today but he has made some great saves this season.

Would like to see Moses at a better club as well. Really rate him.

Al Habsi is Gomes-esque though he'll make some wonder saves then have a howler.

Moses is way too greedy imo, whether that's because he's at Wigan and doesn't trust anyone who knows but so many times he goes for ridiculous shots when the blindingly obvious pass is the better option.

*No personal attacks* I quote something and replied to it with a relevant point. You quoted that and talked about something different .

In what possible way is me talking only about FFP......... not relevant to you talking about FFP, seriously?

Shall we consider what you said, FFP, plan to not break FFP in the future, Chelsea and FFP..... my post was on, Chelsea, FFP, their lack of any plan to not make a loss, yup entirely different subject matters.

Fairly comfortable win for us Baggies today, Chelsea second best throughout.

Must come as no surprise that for the last 3 games we have reverted to our strongest 4-5-1 and come through unscathed.

Weird that people still consider Chelsea losing today a surprise, i can only assume that people on here largely base their opinion/viewpoint on MOTD/popular tabloids which amazingly made it look like quite an even game, Such is the BBC bias towards the 'big' teams i suppose.

One people have stopped 'LOL'ing at West Brom, the 'poor club' with no money outperforming 'big clubs' who are jizzing money up anybodies anus that will listen then perhaps these "outrageous" results wouldn't happen.

Fantastic weekend for us, absolutely fantastic. :D

Midweek. I don't care if we field a weakened team against Milan, Chamakh or Park should start and we can give AOC a run out as well. It's extremely unlikely that we'd score enough and concede few enough to knock Milan out and there's no point risking players who we need for our league matches.

Because you said,

Which is wrong, so I said,

That's the end of that side of the discussion. You know, talking in general about the idea of FFP, and how the authorities are going to view people spending crazily compared to those who don't meet the rules, but have a demonstrable plan.

---

Then you decided to go on a rant about the specifics of Chelsea's situation. That's a different discussion to the one about the rules in general.

---

It's not hard!

Yes, the problem being you replied and quoted a post TALKING ABOUT CHELSEA'S situation with regards to FFP, that was the entire discussion which you got involved in :rolleyes:

As for the end of that side of the discussion you are both wrong, and don't get to choose when a discussion ends.

As I pointed out Chelsea aren't remotely close to meeting FFP rules and they do not and can not show a plan which would fix the situation, making both of your points moot.

Great weekend for Arsenal so far, amazing how a team can benefit so much from a player putting himself in the shop window  :p

City still grinding out the results too, with 10 games to go and looking at the run-in that Apr 30th game against Utd is going to be massive.

I find it amusing. We're having a shocking season and we're still ahead of Everton. A sense of humour must be the only thing they have left.

Not really a fair comparison (considering how much has been spent on your squad over 18 months or so) but why would local rivalry ever consider that :)

Saying that - even with the loss yesterday (and it was hugely comical how many chances Liverpool squandered) I stil think if they win the game in hand they can fight Arsenal for 4th.... even 3rd might not be so nailed on, although even IF Spurs lose today, I think they will rattle off a few wins in a row to keep a healthy gap to 4th

Im hoping AVB lasts under a week, and then the feel good factor of a new manager lifts Chelsea enough to get a point or three against City on the 19th March :D (I may be dreaming, but you never know - RA has a history after all lol)

Currently Utd NEED to win every game to keep the pressure up, and the game at the end of April at the Etihad would be a must win no matter what happens between now and then.

However IF City were to drop a few points before that, for whatever reason (and as with Utd, City arent exactly scoring at will - even if upto the final 1/3 they are practically irresistable) then it would become very interesting indeed.....even despite the goal difference advantage they have.....I would be very surprised if GD makes any difference come May 13th (and you never know Arsenal may yet learn to defend a little bit before the beginning of April lol)

Huge game for the Toon this afternoon, and not just because it's the derby.

Need to keep the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal (never in a million years did I think I'd be saying that at the start of this season)!

:)

Yes because we have had a great season. Just above the drop zone for a large part of the season and still 5 points off you. Despite us losing our best player and spending less than you spent on one of carrolls boot laces and not having the king kenny factor. ;)

You must know by now that Liverpool losing is far more important to Everton fans than their own matches.

Only in your heads, most of us know you're no longer a big enough club for us to fixate on. If only you lot realised you are now also rans as well. I fear your mob as much as villa and stoke these days ;)

I don't think a Southampton fan can criticise us going through our best player :p Plus we have the second top scorer in the league in McCormack so we don't rely soley Snoddy and Becchio at all. Becchio was winning everything in the air vs your defence, we just had a REALLY unlucky day. Lambert was in our defences back pocket for the whole game despite the blunder that eventually cost us.

Lol I know :p it was fun to watch as it was hands over eyes stuff with Hooiveld, Fonte and Davis between them having a pretty good game and hoping for the best...

The comms only just been on about how many yellows and reds Cattermole and Tiotte have got between them, first time Tiotte gets the ball Cattermole ploughs straight through him from behind!

Red card short odds in this game I'd think.

Big big game. Happy to see with pretty much the same team as last weeks cup final. Hopefully Miller shows up, he's desperately due a goal or two.
