This is why we need a defensive midfielder, Carrick is a very poor one. In games like this where we're struggling to get the ball his weaknesses become very apparent.

Our defence has the ball and Carrick and Scholes are both completely stationary while the Spurs midfield moves around, no wonder we have to keep hoofing it.
