We haven't been able to attract top quality players regardless.
Thats true but i dont honestly think with the squad we have, we can get 4th this yr. We have a pretty good midfield and upfront we are ok, its just our rubbish defence that lets us down every single time we play.
And like Sonam said above me, its been a long time since we attracted any top quality players. Especially now with Chelsea and Man Citys sugar daddys blowing the transfer window right open the past few yrs.

Ashley young is utter ****. Hope rooney plays left when Kagawa returns and interchanges in the middle with him.
I thought it was more a case of not wanting to pay for top players. I think Arsenal could get the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Vertonghen but didn't want to take the financial risk and exposure associated with buying them.
Spurs can't get top players and end up paying over the top for quite mediocre ones in terms of wages. Dempsey and Sigurdssen being example.

Even if we did offer better money, given the choice a player is always going to to go for the club more likely to win things. Any decent player is going to be having a bunch of clubs sniffing round them. You have to do a City or a Chelsea with OTT money waved in their face if you want attract top tier players if your trophy cabinet has nothing to show.
Well theres that too but when you have Wenger saying that he has the funds to buy a £30mill+ player and doesnt...makes u think why say it in the first place
Personally i dont think its a case of not paying £30mill+ for a player, its probably a case of the wages as Arsenal dont like to pay £100k a week to a player even though they could probably afford to. We were willing to give RVP £100k+ a week but even he could see that we werent going to win anything so decided to jump to Utd because theres more chance of him winning a few trophies with them than Arsenal. Would have been nice if he stayed for another yr and see how well we did with him, Giroud, Pod and Carzola in teh squad. But i dont blame the guy for jumping, season before it was Fabregas who jumped to Barca as he couldnt see Arsenal winning any trophies.

Happy with our performance today. Gutted not to have kept a clean sheet but for most of the game we contained Arsenal. They had a good spell just after half time but never really threatened for all their possession.
Ando was a good choice to come on and he gives us a bit of drive when we need it to settle the midfield down.
Deserved 3 points in my book.
