Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3 - 5th November 2012]

yeh. i've also seen him for the past 3 years

You saw him score his first United goal against Spurs at WHL then :D
And the winning penalty against them in the Carling Cup Final
And last season when he scored the second in a 3-0 win :)

Zero imagination going forward plus a lack of quality in the final thrid and we offer no threat what so ever! Players seem obsessed with just keeping the ball aimlessly. Players don't seem to have any idea how to break Wigan down.

Wigan could easily be 2-0 up and look much more dangerous than we do

Trufax - the 15 point total we’ve amassed in our opening 10 Premier League games is our worst since we finished 12th in the 1994-95 season. Yes, worse than last season.

Arsenal were balls as per usual, and it should be pointed out, Walcott did EXACTLY what he did against Reading, which is, nothing, no defensive help, no balls, no strength, no drive, no effort, he wanted a tap in, was only capable of a tap in and didn't get the chance to tap in.

Arshavin got very little of the ball and very little of the time, both of his real involvements ended up in chances on goal, one of them was scored..... same as his performance against Reading, he tried the right passes when he had the chance, and he did more defensively(albeit a foul which for me was more Santos's foul than his) as he worked hard to track someone, up the other end he won a header, against Ferdinand by using his strength to hold him off and it wasn't a random header, he gave it straight to Santi who then scored. Before that he got the ball for the half chance for Giroud.

Honestly despite doing nothing and barely going forwards in the first half hour, it was around the half hour mark when I first heard Arteta's name, or even noticed him on the pitch. Verm, Mert and Sagna all at various points made horrible clearances, Mert at least sliced it out for a corner, the other two led to direct chances on goal. Santos didn't make any poor clearances... yay..... it was only because he couldn't get near the ball to save his life.... :(

Why on earth we aren't, with Sagna back, trying Jenks at left back I really don't know. Reading was really the perfect game to give him a try at left back before if he didn't completely lose the plot(its almost exactly the same role but some players are so painfully one footed or just retarded that they find the line being on the other side somehow makes them forget how to kick a ball), he would have been a most likely far far stronger option than Santos.

Overall the game was crap, Utd scored too early, and barely tried from then on. They cruised through the game and we couldn't create anything. Santi has been really poor for several weeks, and far too often did he take too long on the ball and take the easy backwards pass. The movement upfront was poor, but largely because the passes weren't coming in, there was no fluidity to our play at all. Ramsey sucks as a winger, Walcott is worse, Arshavin was our most effective player and he was on for 10 minutes.

Wenger is a twit, and we won't improve till he goes. I still laugh at the guys who insisted a few draws meant our defence had improved... if anything so far this year I think our defence looks worse. Kos and Verm are in significantly worse form than last year.

Really frustrated, at halftime I was thinking we needed to replace Ramsey at RW, but rather than a straight sub I thought it would make sense to put Walcott on for Wilshere as he'd been booked, and bring Ramsey in field.

Fair enough, Wenger goes for the straight swap. But then when the second goal went in, I thought OK, lets chuck Chamakh on, he scored twice in midweek so maybe will have some confidence, give us someone to partner Giroud up top, and again this would let us get Wilshere off the pitch.

It was obvious he was going to get a red card, you could see when Cleverley got a talking to that Wilshere was there complaining, and the ref was pointing and basically saying "er listen son you were on a yellow too and I just gave you a talking to when you made a foul at the other end, zip it". But Fergie had the sense to protect Cleverley at that point at subbed him, whereas Wenger left Wilshere on.
