Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th - 31st August 2014]

who are the injured players to return?

Shaw, Rafael, Rojo (work permit), Carrick, Herrera are the first team players that are currently unavailable.

So 3 out of 4/5 first choice defenders are out.

Both first choice CM are out as well.

Like telling the players what they are doing right, rather than chastise them on their weaknesses.

If the manager tells his players that they are ****, what little confidence the players have, may go completely..

You mean like Moyes did? That turned out well.

As I said last year, what can you expect from a team when all they ever see and read even from the manager is they are rebuilding and a list of names. Especially last year so many of them were just going through the motions because they knew they were about to be replaced and had no united future.

In that case it's the boards utter failing to replace these players and let them get another season where everyone knows they are not wanted. Imagine going to work every day knowing as soon as they could you were out to be replaced and no one had any time for you. Then imagine that for 2 years, that's why the players have no team spirit and confidence.

64% to 36% possession yet Burnley had more shots.

80% of our possession was the defence playing it around till they gave it to De Gea to punt upfield and the rest of it was Valencia fannying about on the wing then passing it back to Fletcher.

All important players (compared to the backup options), and then we have Blind now as well.

It's foolish to start drawing conclusions already, all things considered. All managers/teams have poor starts/results/whatever.

My big concern is the formation, but that can be changed.

LVG is very stubborn though, will he change it? Hard to tell obviously..

I doubt he will change it but the main issue we have at the moment is injuries and the cover available for those injuries. You can have a few **** players that cover for first choice but when you have such a depth of **** cover and so many injuries you are in trouble.

Should have brought a new keeper om at half time, then maybe we wouldn't have conceded a load of throws from goal kicks.

Your comments are quite astounding sometimes. De Gea has absolutely zero to do with todays result or performance.

I don't think it is De Gea's fault. I just don't think any of the United players could be bothered to find space or fight for the ball in the air : /
